Minutes of the Regular Meeting of Council
Monday, October 17, 2022
Page 14
for the Innovation Center addition. Both preliminary site plans were approved at that meeting.
Finally, the third meeting was the October 3`d ARB meeting in which we had three proposals. The
first was approval of a new house on Montebello subdivision. This house is for the St. Jude Dream
Home. This was approved. The second proposal was the exterior renovations for Hope Bridge
Therapy on Wilson Mills for an addition of two doors on the building. That was approved. The
third proposal was tabled for a new wall sign and monument sign at Preformed Line Products. If
you have any questions, I would be happy to answer them.
Council President Schutt stated, thank you, Mr. Russell.
Tom Cappello (Engineer) - Just a quick update on the Worton Park project. The culvert on
Worton Park was poured last Friday. It is presently in its cure time. The contractor will be back
next week to begin backfilling that culvert and will simultaneously be working on the North
Woodlane culvert. Things are moving along.
Council President Schutt stated, thank you, Mr. Cappello.
Chief Eugene Carcioppolo (Fire) - I have nothing specific to the Fire Department but I did just
want to make a comment on tonight's Council meeting. I just wanted to say that being in the same
position as Paul as Chief I can say that making decisions on behalf of the department are difficult
at times. I don't know all the details of everything that transpired, but Paul is professional and
methodical and I know that he doesn't make rash decisions and do things without thinking them
through. I just wanted to extend that to everyone to consider because wearing these badges every
day is a trying position to be in. Thank you.
Council President Schutt stated, thank you, Chief.
Diane Calta (Law) — Thank you, Council President. I have no report but I can answer any
questions on the new legislation that's on the agenda for the alternate members of the BZA, appeals
to Council from the BZA and the ditch enclosure ordinance. So if anyone has any questions when
we get to them, I can answer them.
Council President Schutt stated, thank you Ms. Calta.
Shane McAvinew (Parks and Recreation) — Thank you Council President. I do have a couple
of items tonight. Just a reminder that we are into the next phase of our Senior Snow Plow program
for opting in. Starting today, it's a $50 additional fee for opting in late. We are taking them all the
way through the month of October. If you know anyone who wants to be in the program, please
let your residents know that they need to sign up before November 1" to make sure that we secure
a contractor for them. If we can secure a contractor after November 1 ", we will definitely will still
take them in the program, it's just that I am not sure we can secure a contractor after that, so there's
no guarantee after that. We will just do our best. Opt -outs will be available all the way through
December.
