Minutes of the Regular Meeting of Council
Monday, June 17, 2024
Page 6
and facilities as well as the retail distribution. Who are we? Let me tell you who
we are. Take a look at our website. Our website says: a new Greenway Trail is
complete and connects the center of the Village to a variety of destinations. Village
residents and visitors can now travel on foot or by bicycle to the new Mayfield
Branch of the Cuyahoga County Public Library, the Village's recreational area
which includes soccer fields and ballfields. I will add as a proponent pickle ball
fields, tennis courts, bocce courts, the Parkview Pool, the playground, the Grove,
the 25-acre wetlands and of course the Metropark. Therefore, why should we feel
that our community should be any different? We are a hub of family fun and any
of these edifices, the potential of the production, processing and selling of
marijuana is contradictory to our life in Mayfield Village. I have lived here for 9
years and have brought people on board because I am very proud of Mayfield
Village and what we stand for. I urge you to consider the ban. Thank you.
Christina Kinzel
6617 SOM Court
He's not with us in the room anymore I don't think, but I do want to thank
Firefighter Federico for his service and dedication to his country and Mayfield
Village. I am originally from New Jersey. I witnessed two of the 9-1-1 tragedies.
I moved to Mayfield Village. I selected Mayfield Village for the community that
it is. My husband and I drove out here on 9/11/21, 20 years later, to start our new
lives here. It is a wonderful community. My parents now have joined us. They
moved here last year across the street from me. We want to make sure that our
community stays as it is; family -friendly, dedicated and everything that Michelle
Kay had spoken about. Please, we beg you and we urge you to consider the ban on
this facility and the selling of marijuana in Mayfield Village. Thank you.
Paula Conti
660 Meadowood Drive
I am Mark Granakis' sister-in-law. Our family is also very against this. There's
no economic value to Mayfield Village. I would rethink that if that was a possibility
or if it was going to bring jobs and tax dollars but it's not. This is a family -friendly
area. We have the Grove. We have the pool. We have the Metroparks. We walk.
Our services are amazing, the police department, amazing. We can't ask for
anything better. It's very concerning that we are even considering this. I would
definitely rethink it. Please ban it. Thank you.
Rosemarie Fabrizio
6588 SOM Court
We have heard it all and thank you for listening. The one last thing I would like to
say is that we are a community of neighborhoods. Small neighborhoods who make
up one larger neighborhood which is Mayfield Village. We come here this evening
