R. <br />Bierman moved to forward the proposal to install windows and awnings at <br />24001 Lorain Road, Red Lobster Inns of America, to the Architectural <br />Board of Review, seconded by E. Traczyk, and unanimously approved. <br />5) P. J. McIntyre, 5821 Great Northern Mall <br />Propos al to install awnings on exterior of Great Northern Mall. <br />Mr. Poorman, Seuffert Construction Company, explained that awnings. <br />(already installed) are dark green and that lights shown on plan were <br />originally on the.building. R. Bierman moved to fozward proposal to <br />install awnings on exterior of Great Northern Mall, 5821 Great Northern <br />Mall, to the Architectural Board of Review, seconded by E. Traczyk, and <br />unanimously approved. <br />6) Chi-Chi's Restaurant, 25411 Great Northern Shopping Center <br />proposal to alter canopy on existing restaurant. <br />Mr. Davis, representing Chi-Chi's, exnlained proposal to alter the exist- <br />ing trellis type canopy to a solid internally illuminated canopy which <br />will be mostly red with a green stripe and presented a photograph of <br />the canopy. Several members thought the red was too flamboyant and not <br />in keeping with the mall and shopping center. Mr. Davis explained <br />that the- company previously had a green canopy, but had decided to <br />use the red nationally on all their restaurants. He explained that <br />tttey were.-tryingto:.give.the restaurant a more-festive and. standard <br />image. Canopy has a 14 square foot logo added and the Building Deparment <br />will check to see if there is sufficient sign area remaining for it. <br />J. Thomas moved to submit proposal to alter Chi-Chi's canopy at 25411 <br />Great Northern Shopping Center to the Architectural Board of Review with <br />the recommendations that the color and design be toned down in order to <br />be more fitting to the existing mall and surrounding stores, seconded <br />by M. Betts,• and unanimously approved. <br />7) Sopata Construction Co., 24834 Lorain Road <br />Proposal to construct garage behind building. <br />Mr. Sopata, the owner, explained that they would like.to construct a <br />detached garage behind the building for the company vehicles (one pick-up <br />truck and two automobiles). The architecture.of the garage will be <br />similar to their present office building. The apron of the existing <br />concrete drive will be enlarged. No additional lighting is planned and <br />there are no trees on the property. R. Bierman moved to fozward the <br />proposal to construct a garage behind the building at 24834 Lorain Road, <br />the Sopata Construction Company, to the Architectural Board of Review <br />and the Engineering Department, seconded by E. Traczyk, and unanimously <br />approved. ` <br />8) Biskind Development Co., Great Northern Shopping Center Proposal for exterior alteration to eastern end of shopping center. <br />Proposal was with drawn by the developer.
