The oath was <br />administered to B. Malaer, representing Aamco, and R. Prince, Best Products. <br />Mr. Malear explained that they are amending their request and would like to <br />install a 54 square foot logo on two sides of their building, for a total of <br />108 square feet.(request stated 98 square feet),. Tliey have removed three <br />signs from their building. Mr. Prince has no problem with these signs. B. <br />Grace moved to-approve the request for 141.88 square foot variance for total <br />sign area for the Aamcae Transmissions, 26618 Brookparl-, Road Extension, seconded <br />by C. Remmel. Roll call on motion: Grace, Remmel, and Helon, yes. Mr. Bugala9 <br />no. Motion passed. Variance granted. <br />8. RompPs Dairy Queen and Brazier, 24579 Lorain Road <br />Request for variance (1123.12).. Request variance to alter non-conforming <br />pole sign. (.1165.03=d). Request 64 square foot variance to add to pole sign <br />(146 sq.. ft. existing, 19 sg. ft._added - 100 sq. ft. allowed). Also request <br />a variance to maintain a-pole sign in right-of-way. Violation of Ord. 87-93, <br />Section 1163.06,(f)4. Also request variance for total sign area of 51.4 sq. ft. <br />(added 33..4 sq. ft, of wall--sign and 19 sq. ft. to add "Drive-Thru" to pole <br />sign). Violation of Ord. 87-93,.Section 1163.06(d). <br />Chairman?Remmel called all interested parties.before the Board. The oath was <br />administered to Mr. Slattery, contractor, G. George, adjacent property owner, <br />and T: Romp; owner, who explained that the.pole sign has been existing since <br />1967 and a variance was probably granted•at that time. Building Commissioner <br />Conway explained that they had changed an 19 square foot sign which was.attached <br />to the pole sign from "salad bar" to "drive=thru" (apparently no variance was <br />requested for.that sign) and.because they altered a-non-conforming pole.sign <br />they must get a variance and also pointed out that the sign was.partially over <br />the sidewalk. Mr. Grace stated that they have improved the looks of the buildinge <br />Mr. Bugala questioned if they would have-to.remove the entire sign.if the vari- <br />ance was denied. He was advised that they would have to remove the "drive-thru" <br />portion only. R. Bugala moyed to grant the added 18 square foot variance and <br />also the variance for the total sign area of the.pole sign of 64 square feet <br />'and to maintain a pole sign in the right of way., seconded by C. Remmel, and <br />unanimouslyapproved. In reference to the wall.sign, Mr. Slattery explained <br />that they had removed a 195 square foot sign band during the alteration and have. <br />now added a 33.4 square foot building sign, this was mentioned at the Architec- <br />tural Board of Review but they were not aware that they needed a variance. <br />B. Grace moved to approve the varianee request of a 33.4.square foot.variance <br />for an illuminated wall sign and a variance for 51.4-square feet for total sign area, seconded by B: Grace. Roll call on motion: Grace, Remmel, and . <br />Helon, yes. Mr. Bugala, no. Motion passed. Variances granted.
