BOARD OF ZONTNG APPEALS AUGUST 3, 1988 PAGE 6 <br />8. Dena Schuman, 24390 Woodside Dr. <br />Request for variance (1123.12). Request variance for a wood fence on corner <br />lot less than 90% open. Violation of Ord, 87-93, Section 1135..02(h)-2. <br />Chairman Remmel called all interested parties before the Board. The oath was <br />administered to Mrs. Schuman who presented letters from two neighbors which <br />stated that they would prefer the solid wood fence to a chain link fence. She <br />explained that she needs the solid fence and to keep her children inside the <br />yard. Mr. Remmel beleives that a solid fence on a corner is a safety hazard. <br />It was explained that she could use a chain link fence and install 16 feet <br />of privacy screen around her patio. Mr. Grace suggested installing the fence <br />in line with the building line of the house. After some discussion it was <br />decided that a solid wood fence could be 6 feet off the side of the house (14 <br />feet from the sidewalk). B. Grace moved to grant the request for a variance <br />for a wood fence on a corner lot less than 90% open with the restriction that <br />on the Deepwoods side, to stay 3 feet off,the sidewalk would have .to be chain. <br />link, and if.the homeowner wants al1 wood, it would haue to be 14,feet off the <br />Deepwoods side sidewalk, seconded by R. Bugala; and unanimously approved. <br />Variance granted. <br />9. Eyelab, 26127 Lorain Road. . <br />Request for variance (1123.12). Request 37.4.square foot variance for total <br />sign area for rear wall sign. Violation of Ord. 87-93,- Section 1163.06(d). <br />Chairman.Remmel called all interested parties before the Boar.d.. No represen- <br />tative was present. Board was opposed to this request... R. Gomersall moved to <br />grant the request for 37.4 square foot variance for total sign area for rear <br />wall sign for Eyelab at 26127 Lorain Road, seconded .by C. Remmel. Roll call. <br />on motion: Gomersall, Remmel, Bugala, Grace, and Helon, no. Motion failed <br />to pass. Variance denied. <br />10. Paul L. Ruggles, 23416-Sharon Drive: . <br />Request for variance (1123.12). Request 18 foot rear yard variance for <br />addition. Violation of Ord. 87-93, Section 1135.08(a). <br />Chairman Remmel called all interested.parties before the.Board. The,oath was <br />administered to Mr. Ruggles.. Board had.no questions on the request. Mr. Remmel <br />advised that since this is an in=law suite they could not use the house as a <br />two family home.. J. Helon moved to.grant the request for an 18.foot rear yard <br />variance for an addition for Paul L. Ruggles, 23416 Sharon Drive, seconded by <br />R. Gomersall, and unanimously.approved._. Variance granted. <br />11. Mr. and Mrs. Maurer, 23963 Vincent.Drive . <br />Request for variance (1123.12). Request 18 foot rear yard variance to con- <br />struct screen room. Violation of Ord. 87-93, Section 1135.08(a). <br />Chairman Remmel called all interested parties before the Board. The oath was <br />administered to Mr. and Mrs. Maurer and neighbors, Mr. and Mrs. Mack, who had <br />no objection to the request. Mr. Remmel advised that if they ever wanted to <br />install windows in the room they would have to come back to the Boarde B. Grace <br />moved to grant the request for a 19 foot rear yard:variance to construct a <br />screen room for Mr. and A1rs. Mauer at 23963 Vincent Drive, seconded by C. Remmel, ; <br />and unanimously approved. Variance granted.
