Mr. Bugala advised that they would,be allowed a ground sign, if they <br />reduced the existing signage. Mr. Procacaccini stated that when Sohio built <br />the station they used all the permitted sign areas that he needs'tfiis sign to advertise their service; that many people do not know they offer full service <br />at that station; and that he does not believe that Sohio would reduce the signage. Councilman McKay stated that he should consider the City's point <br />of view, and all businesses.could request additional signage. Mr. Procaccini <br />responded that this is a huge corner lot, is beautifully landscaped, and this <br />sign would be the same as the one at his other station. Mr. Grace maintained <br />that other station have more signage, and does not believe that the Board <br />should surpress this business. Councilman Tallon (sworrr in from a previous case) stated that the City does have a problem with over-signage and believes <br />that Mr. Procaccini's problem is with Sohio. Mr. Procaccini stated that it <br />is possible that Sohio will be changing their signage, thereby reducing the <br />area,.but that may not happen for another year;. and pointed out that lie ' <br />has to have price signs according to City ordinances, and`that'is charged'% <br />against his permitted sign area._ R. Bugala moved to grant the 108.92-square <br />foot variance for total sign area to install a ground sign-for Sohio Gas <br />Station at 25295 Lorain Road, seconded by B. Grace.
