Violation of Ord. 87-93, Section 1163.06-f(4),
1163.06-b(4), and 1163.06-d.
Chairman Bugala called all interested parties before the Board. The oath was
administered to Mr. Miller, sign contractor, who stated that Ames wanted to
use the existing pole to install their sign where the previous Zayre sign had
been. He pointed out that westbound drivers could not see the wall sign, and
also this pole contains the T.J. Maxx sign, but Ames cannot make them remove,
or reduce the size of their sign. Building Commissioner Conway explained
that only the wall signs were presented to the Planning Commission when the
; building renovations.were reviewed. He advised that with this signage they
? would be exceeding the total sign area permitted for their store by 58 square
feet. Mr. Bugala pointed out that this sign is 10 feet higher than the code
allows and would require a height variance as well (not requested on agenda).
After some discussion, Mre Miller agreed that they would reduce the height of
the sign to 25 feet to meet the codee R.
