Chairman Gomersall called all interested parties before the Board. The oath
was administered to Mr. Taylor. The members had looked at the site. Mr.
Restifo mentioned that there were no neighbors present. Mr. Taylor pointed out
that there are only about 5 homes behind his property and the C.E.I. substation
and power lines can be seen from his back yard. Mr. Gomersall is concerned
because there is so much in the rear yard. Mr. Taylor pointed out that the deck
meets all the setback requirements and he has no intention of covering the
pool. J. Maloney moved to approve for Robert W. Taylor, 6704 Wedgewood Drive,
the request for a variance to have over 20% coverage of required rear yard to
construct deck, seconded by E. Maloney, and unanimously approved. Variance
granted.
10. Andrew Dufala, 27180 Gloucester Dr.
Request for variance (1123.12). Request variance to park boat in front set
back. Violation of Ord. 87-93, Section 1135.02(k).
Chairman Gomersall called all interested parties before the Board. The oath was
administered to Mr. Dufala, and neighbors, Mrs. Puinno, Mr. Garber, Mr.
McAndrew, T. Woodmar, and Mrs. Distefano. Mr. Gomersall stated that all the
members have seen the property. Mrs. Puinno, Mr. Garber, and Mr. Woodmar had
no objections. Mrs. Distefano stated that she does have objections and if the
board allows him to put the boat in the front, everyone would want to do the
same. She maintains that when she would not sign the petition, Mr. Dufala
threatened her. Mr. Dufala maintained that it was impossible to get the boat
around the side of the house, and since he lives on a cul-de-sac, he has a
the rear yard of a house on Revere Drive in his front yard. Mr. Restifo and Mr.
Gomersall both stated that they have boats, but are against putting boats in
front yards. Mr. Restifo stated that there are a lot of boaters in the city and
this could set a precedento Mr. Dufala asked if there was an ordinance about
connnercial trucks. He was advised that there was, but that had nothing to do
with this request. Mr. Gallagher suggested that the boat be kept in the
garage. Mr. Dufala responded that he could not get the door closed and he would
have a hard time putting it in at an angle. E. Gallagher moved to grant the
request of Andrew Dufala, 27180 Gloucester Drive, for a variance to park a boat
in the front setback, seconded by T. Restifo. Ro11 call an motion: Gallagher,
Restifo, Maloney, and Gomersall, no. Motion failed to pass. Variance denied.
Mr. Dufala advised that they were going to get a lot of complaints from him on
trucks and also asked if McKay was still a councilman.
lla John J. Cook, 6299 Somerset Drive.
Request for variance (1123.12). Request 5 foot rear setback variance to
install shed. Violation of Ord. 87-93, Section 1135.02-D4.
Chairman Gomersall called a11 interested parties before the Board. The oath was
administered to Mr. Cook who stated that if the shed were put at a conforming
location it would be too close to his swimming pool. The members have no
problem with the request. T. Restifo moved to grant John J. Cook of 6299
Somerset Drive, his request for a 5 foot rear setback variance to install a
shed, seconded by J. Maloney, and unanimously approved. Variance granted.
12. Mr. and Mrs. Bob Koenig, 29726 Vita Lane.
, Request for variance (1123.12). Request 22 foot rear yard variance to
construct patio enclosure. Violation of Ordinance 87-93, Section 1135.08(a).
Also request special permit to add to non-conforming dwelling (rear yard).
Special permission required Ord. 87-93, Section 1165.02.
4
