11. Brooklor Shopping Center, 25905 to 26035 Lorain Road. <br />Request for variance (1123.12). Request variance to keep temporary signs on <br />exterior of building until permanent signs can be installed. Violation of Ord. <br />87-93, Section 1163.12(g). <br />Chairman Gorris called all interested paxties before the Board. Mr. Bedar, Stark <br />Enterprises, explained that they are requesting to retain the temporary signage <br />banners that are installed: a 15,by 2 foot banner for Office Max; 20 by 4 foot <br />banner for T. J. Maxx; 3 by 30 foot banner for Sun T.V. and also Sun T.V. is <br />asking to be allowed to keep'a "Grand Opening" banner for 3 weeks; and an 8 by 2 <br />foot and a 15 by 2 foot banner the beauty shop which has frontage on two sides. <br />Chairman Gomersall administered the oath at this time. Mr. Bedar explained that <br />they are are requesting this for about 60 days or until the steel comes in so <br />that they can complete their construction and install the permanent signs. They <br />would like the "Grand Opening" sign for 3 weeks from this evening. The temporary <br />ground signs have been removed. T. Restifo moved to grant to Brooklor Shopping <br />Center, 29505 to 26035 Lorain Road, their request for a variance to keep <br />temporary signs on the exterior of build:ings tmtil permanent signs can be <br />installed; we will give them a 60 day period for their temporary signs which will <br />end an January 11, 1992 and a"Grand Opening" sign for Sun T.V. for 3 weeks from <br />tonight (November 7, 1991), seconded by.B. Grace, and unanimously approved. <br />Variances granted. <br />12. Marco's Pizza 23657 Lorain Road <br />Request for variance 1123.12 . Request variance to use existing 32 square foot <br />pole sign with changeable copy sign for advertising. Violation of Ord. 90-125, <br />Sections 1163.22(a) and 1163.04(k). Also request 35.6 square foot variance for <br />total sign area (32.0 square foot for pole sign and 3.6 square foot for wall <br />sign) Violation of Ord. 90-125, Section 1163.10(b)-1&2 and 1163.11(c). <br />Chairman Gomersall called all interested parties before the Board. The oath was <br />administered to J. Richards and D. Rawlings, who represented Marco's Pizza. They <br />explained that they wanted to use the existing pole sign and wanted a 21 by 3 <br />foot wall sign which is over sized by 3.6 feet. They did imderstand that a11 pole <br />signs had to be removed by January 1, 1998. They further pointed out that there <br />is now a Marc's Pizza in the old Chuck E. Cheese building which could be very <br />confusing. B. Grace moved to grant the request for a variance to use the existing <br />32 square foot pole sign with changeable sign copy for advertising and to grant <br />the request for 35.6 square foot variance for total sign area (32.0 square foot <br />for pole sign and 3.6 square foot for wall sign) for Marco's Pizza, 23657 Lorain <br />Road with the understanding that the owners lmow that the pole sign will be taken <br />down January l, 1998, seconded by R. Gomersall, and tmanimously approved. <br />Variance granted. <br />13. Ken Davison, 3534 Dawn Drive. <br />Request for variance (1123.12). Request 1.5 foot side yard variance and 30 foot <br />rear yard variance to construct an addition. Violations of Ord. 90-125, Sections <br />1135.07(a) and 1135.08(a). <br />Chairman Gomersall called all interested parties before the Board. The oath was <br />administered to Mr. Davison, Mr. Sala, a neighbor, and the contractors, Mr. <br />Lakatos and J. Goodwin, who explained that this will be a 600 square foot <br />addition consisting of 200 square feet for living area and 400 square feet for a <br />tool shed area. The plans were shown to Mr. Sala. It was clarified that the scale <br />of the original plan was not accurate, since there is only a 50 foot front set <br />back and consequently only a 17 foot rear yard variance would be needed.
