Rr- 16 <br />`n <br />They considered this sign a directory since there are 5 agents in the office. R. <br />Gomersall moved to grant the variance for a 2 square foot variance for total sign <br />area and a variance for a second wall sign, seconded by J. Maloney, and <br />unanimously approved. Variances granted. <br />Next Day Signs, 23900 Lorain Road. <br />Request for variance (1123.12). Request variance to add to pole sign; request <br />4 square foot variance for maximun allowable sign area for free standing signs <br />for a business use; and also request 1.5 square foot variance for signage over <br />maxirmnn signage allowed for a business use. Violation of Ord. 90-125, Sections <br />1163.22(A), 1163.11, and 1163.11(A). <br />Chairman Gomersall called all interested parties before the Board. The oath was <br />administered to Mr. Jacobson, Next Day Signs. Mr. Gomersall verified that he was <br />asking to add 4 square feet to a pole sign. Mr. Jacobson stated that the building <br />adjacent to his is 25 feet closer to Lorain than his building so drivers coming <br />from the east cannot see his building. He explained that he would like to add to <br />the Adon pole sign. Mr. Gomersall stated that the total signage will be 1.5 <br />square foot over and questioned if he lmew that this sign would have to come down <br />in 1998. J. Maloney moved to grant Next Day signs at 23900 Lorain Road their <br />request for a vaxiance to add to pole sign, request 4 square foot variance for <br />maxiTm,rn allowable sign area for free standing signs for business use and also the <br />request for 1.5 square foot variance for signage over maximLUn allowed for a <br />business use, seconded by R. Gomersall, and unanimously approved. <br />Christ The King Church, 30635 Lorain Road. <br />Request for variance (1123.12). Request 1 foot, 8 inch height variance for <br />to use existing informational ground signe Also request 13 foot setback <br />variance for location of sign from right of way. Violations of Ord. 90-125, <br />Section 1163.08(A)a <br />Chairman Gomersall called all interested parties before the Board. The oath was <br />aciministered to W. Molnar, Christ The King Church and C. Woost, sign contractor, <br />who presented a rendering of the sign. Mr. Molnar stated that an electric sign <br />will be installed between the existing brick pylons. The members had no problem <br />with the request. R. Gomersall moved to grant for Christ the King Church, 30635 <br />Lorain Road, for a 1 foot, 8 inch height variance to use existing informational <br />ground sign and also a 13 foot setback variance for location of sign from the <br />right of way, seconded by J. Maloney, and unanimously approved. <br />Fast Signs, 24181 Lorain Road. <br />Request for variance (1123.12). Request 9.00 squa.re foot variance for total <br />sigp area. Violation of.Ord. 90-125, Section 1163.11(c). <br />Chairman Gomersall called all interested parties before the Board. The oath was <br />administered to M. Schaffran and Ms. Maline who presented pictures of the <br />proposed sign and the adjacent Lmits. She explainecl that the previous sign for <br />this unit conformed to the o1d code, and that the adjacent signs also conform to <br />the old code; and also the property sets back 123 feet from the street. Mr. <br />Schaffran pointed out the that sign would blend i.n with all the other signs. The <br />members had no problem with the request. R. Gomersall moved to grant the request <br />of Fast Signs, 24181 Lorain Road, for a 9.00 square foot variance for total sign <br />area, seconded by J. Maloney,, and Lmanimously approved.
