Request variance to change face in existi.ng <br />prohibited pole sign (location of sign would not conform to ordinance regulating <br />location of free standing signs); request 6 inch height variance and location <br />variance to change faces in existing ground sign; and request 9 square foot <br />variance for total sign area allowed. Violations of Ord. 90-125, Sections <br />1163.22(a); 1163.12(b); and 1163.11. <br />6. Society Bank, 26091 Great Northern Shopping Plaza Drive Through Building. <br />Request for variance (1123.12). Request variance to change face of existing <br />prohibited pole sign; request 12 foot variance to change face of existing ground <br />sign; and request 17 square foot variance for total sign area for a business <br />use. Violations of Ord. 90-125, Sections 1163.22(a); 1163.12(b) and 1163.11(a). <br />Chairman Gomersall advised that both request would be heard together. Mr. <br />Gomersall called all interested parties before the Board. The oath was <br />administered to Mr. Miller, sign contractor. Mr. Gomersall stated that.the boaxd <br />is familiar with this request since Mr. Miller had requested by letter that the <br />signs be installed prior to the variance being granted. Mr. Miller statecl_that <br />the ma.nagement is aware tYnat all pole signs ha.ve to be removed by January 1, <br />1998. Mr. Grace stated that, for the- record, the Board appreciated his <br />forethought on this matter. J. Maloney moved to grant for Society Bank, 23420 <br />Lorain Road, the request to change face in existing prohibited pole sign and 6 <br />inch height variance and location variance to change faces in existing ground <br />sign; and request 9 squaxe foot variance for .total sign area allowed and they <br />understarzd that the pole sign is to be removed by Jarnaary 1, 19989 seconded by <br />R. Gomersall, and Lmanimously approved. B. Grace moved grant the variance to <br />change the face of an exgsting prohibited pole sign; to grant the 12 foot <br />variance to change the face of existing ground sign, and to grant a 17 square <br />foot variance for total sign area for a business use for Society Bank, 26091 <br />Great Northern Shopping Plaza Drive Ttirough Building with the condition that the <br />pole sign will be taken down Janua.ry 1, 1998, seconded by R. The oath was <br />administered to Mr. Rochelle, Mr. Mitchell, architect, and Mr. and Mrs. Stock, <br />neighbors. Mr. Mitchell advised that Mr. Rochelle is requesting to add to the <br />back of the existing garage, originally he planned to build a detached garage on <br />a sepaxate paxcel he owns to 'the rear of this lot, but now he is going to <br />maintain that as green area.Mr. Rocheile,willuse the extra space to`store his <br />historical vehicles. An addition is also going to be constructed an the ba.ck of <br />the house which will tie into the gaxage and the sha.pe of the property. No <br />4
