C?.. ?
was stated that the canopy of the main bank building would be the same green. Mr.
Sohn believed that this building was too big to be black and suggested that they
use a beige or off.white to match the white on the main building. Mr. Amos did not
believe that the kiosk was to be black, there is one other such facili.ty which he
thinks is some kind of a beige. It was agreed that the kiosk would ma,tch the beige
on the building. B. Zergott moved to accept National City Bank's kiosk and
landscaping plan with the changes recommended. That the kiosk including the doors
must be beige to match the dryvit on the building and their signs will have their
teal green lettering on a wMte background. That some evergreen shrubs must be
introduced in the landscaping around the kiosk along with the trees and Chat the
the parking lot landscaping be aceepted with the changes suggested that all
landscaping be inside bed areas surrounded by turf areas, seconded by T.
Gallagher, and imanimously approved.
2) Metro Lexus/Infinity, 28450 Lorain Road.
Proposal to construct an Infinity Dealership adjacent to the existing Metro Lexus
Dealership.
Iieard by Board of Zoning Appeals on May 6, 1993.
Referred by Planning Commission May 11, 1993.
Mr. Stoyanov presented pictures, color rendering and color landscaping plans. He
explained tha.t the Infinity property will be consolidated with the existing Lexus
property. The entrance of the build.ing will face the Lexus building arid will be
contemporary in design to compliment it. The landscaping reflects the geometric
shapes of the building. There will be a series of triangular concrete modules
surrounded by landscaping in the front for displaying vehicles. The exterior
materials are identical to the Lexus building: white synthetic stucco, dark bronze
window frames, and white split face block in the rear on the service department.
The parking lot will be enclosed with concrete curbso He presented samples and a
list of materials: white dryvit, Akron Brick white split face block, and bronze
anodized frames, it was clarified for Mr. Sohn that the color rendering does not .
reflect the exact color because the owner preferred that the colors be the same as
on Lexus. Regarding the screening in the rear Mr. Stoyanov had a proposed plan
which may be revised because of discussions with the forester. They will be
installing a fence and possibly a mound. Mr. Zergott stated that this area is very
heavily wooded and any kind of mounding that was installed would necessitate
removing the trees. Mr. Stoyanov stated that the forester had advised that not
only would trees have to be removed where the mound was, the mound would effect
adjacent trees an well. Mrm Stoyanov suggested that the 6 foot fence could be
brought in to about 5 or 10 foot off the parking 1ot, but not installed on a
mound, he advised that the trees are getting thicker now and they would clear aut
the dead trees. Mr. and Mrs. Stephin, neighbors to the rear of the existing Lexus
property, stated that the fence if it were closer to the curb than to their
property would be a big help, and Mr. Stephin stated that he maintained the the
grass axea behind the his property. Mr. Zergott stated that if a fence is
installed, there should be a gate so that Metro can maintain the property behind
it. The Stephins preferred a fence without a mound. Mr. Stoyanov explained that
the existing 6 foot high boaLd on board, cedar fence that is on the east property
line would be relocated and extended behind the entire Lexus and Infinity parking
-lots. In reference to the lights, the Planning Commission had reconunended 20 foot
high poles, but Mr. Stoyanov would like to relocate the existing 30 foot poles to
the front with 20 foot poles on the side. These are 1,000 watt metal halide bulbs
with a cut off fixture. There are also 400 watt wall lights which are about 15
feet off the ground. He explained that they have repaired a timer so that the most
of the lights would be turned off at about.11:00 p.m. Mr. Stephin agreed that they
do go off at night. He would also like the lights shielded. Building Commissioner
2
