lights with shades on them, with just coach lights at the door. Mr. Orlowski explained that this
would eliminate any unnecessary glare for the neighbor to the south, but still give them enough
light for safety and security. Mr. Tallon asked about the lot shown directly to the east, and Mz.
Wymau explained that this is the back land for a lot on Mastic Road, but the owners advised that
they had no intentions of selling it. . B. Gorris moved to refer the Christian Meeting Room located
at the southeast corner of Clague and Brookpark Roads to the Board of Zoning Appeals, and it is
our understanding that this is to be used as a place of worship, typically for one evening a week
and on Sunday, and it is our suggestion to the Board of Zoning Appeals that they grant the three
variance requested, mainly the 25 foot variance on the east property line, a 22 foot variance on
the south property line, and an approximate 23 foot variance on the west or street property line.
It is our understanding that this will be screened from the neighbor on the south with a privacy
fence, and we request that when the developer comes back that they indicate lighting that will not
be adjacent to the adjacent properties, seconded by L. Orlowski, and unanimously approved.
3) St. Brendan's Mobile Classroom, 4242 Brendan Lane.
Proposal to place modular classroom on school property.
Requesting refenal to the Board of Zoning Appeals.
Mr. Frick, representing North Olmsted Schools, explained that they are requesting to install a 50
foot by 13 foot, 9 inch modular classroom unit at St. Brendan's Elementary School, which is
designed to replace the two mobile labs which have been located in front of the school for the last
15 to 20 yeaxs. This manufactured building will be more aesthetically pleasing than the existing
u.nits. Since this type facility cannot be located on any church properiy, the land on which it is to
be installed was donated by the diocese to Ohio Bell Telephone Company Bell as an easement
along the eastern property line adjacent to the rear properties on Brendan Lane where there is
natural screening and adjacent to the growth is a ditch and a fence belonging to the church. The
building will match the beige brick on the church with matching shingles on the roof. Chairman
Gorris questioned why the land was being donated to Ohio Bell and if a subdivision were
required. Mr. Lauft, finance officer of the diocese, explained that there had been an agreement
with Oluo Bell to accept these types of easements or donations of property in order to facilitate
the establishments of these units since the constitution prohibits the any auxiliary service to be
provided on property exclusively owned by a church. He clarified that the property would have to
be given to a public entity. He advised that this is an access easement and no subdivision is
required and there are telephone lines in that area. He advised that the vans parked on the street
are rusting, and this unit will be located much closer to the school. These two modular units will
be sold and they money will be returned to the State of Ohio which is funding this program.
Eventually there will only be one ofthese old u.nits left which is on Ohio Bell property at St.
Richard's school. At this time there are no plans to replace the St. Richard's facility. He presented
samples of the color of the unit and the roofing material and explained that it would be finished
before it was installed on site on concrete piers with skirting around it and a rodent barrier `
around it which is 2 feet deep. This will be a wood finish, not aluwiuu.m. There will only be one
light on the door and has a ramp for handicapped students. There will be telephone facilities in the
building, but no water or sewer is needed. Since the children come from the school there is no
need to ramp the existing public sidewalks. He explained the location to a neighbor in the
audience and the neighbors looked at the rendering and it was clarified that there was a fence
4
