L?
the Biskind property and adding them to the mound and along Brookpark. He stated
that none of the Planning Conunission members had seen the plan presented by Mr.
McKay, but he believed that that they would be in favor of it. He clarified for
Mr. Gallagher the B.Z.A. required that they have a 10 foot wider setback than
originally proposed and that 10 foot is in green area behind the building, but
there is only 25 foot in the axea of the parking lot. He believed that the B.Z.A.
intended them to have the entire,10 foot strip landscaped. NIr. Gallagher showed
him the latest landscape plan. Mr. Newberry clarified that the area where the
trees are to be saved is on the southwest corner of the property and would be
south of the corner of the Clareshire building. Mr. Crawse stated that they
merely wanted to push the mound back a bit in order to save the trees. Mr.
Zergott suggested talking to Dave Wendell. Mr. Orlowski again stated that there
is anly 25 feet of landscaping in the, parking lot area which is the minimum
required. The additional 10 feet would allow them to maintain the 8 foot mound.
Mr. Newberry and Mr. Ca.wrse maintained that they would have an 8 foot mound
regardless of the width, even if they ha.ve to install a retaining wall. There
will be a.board an board fence on top with pine trees that range in size from 8
to 10 feet. They might be able to continue the trees down the mound and through
the trees. Building Commissioner Conway advised them that the B.Z.A. stipulated
that the mound must come to within 25 feet of Country Club Boulevard, and if it
does not they would ha.ve to re-address it. Mr. Cawrse believed that they could
curve the mound and preserve the trees. Mr. Newberry explained that they are
proposing to termina.te the 8 foot high mound (he stated somewhere in this
vicinity, but it was explained privately that it would be about 80 feet from
Country Club) and there could be another mound to replace that ane. One of the
representatives clarified that he had previously stated that the store would
close at 11:00 p.m. but that.time would be subject to change based on the amount
of business. Mrs. Diver, a resident of Mitchell Drive, asked the board to
consider that Wal-Mart is surrounded by.residential property; this building is
not pleasing to the eye; a brick building would be more in keeping with the area;
and she asked that the Board.consider all the residents requests. Mr. Miller, a
member of Planning Comnission. noted that throu-ahout these discussions. Mr.
Bingham has been ca.reful not to commit to any sp
circumstances, it would be best to assume that t]
hours eventually and this should be considerec
asked the developers to verify if there is to be
Chardon. Mr. Bingham responded that there has i
square foot building in Chardon and stated that
but he refused to specify what size-the building
that the landscaping adjacent to the Corporate Co
that the residents wYio live adjacent to it desei
Center does. He suggested that, if cost was a coi
building. Mrs. Schuler, Colebrook Condominium A:
a wood fence, they would like an 8 foot high br:
of other walls which are beautiful. The ditch will remain,
alleviate any problems. Ms. Musser, who has 1
stated that she will look over anto the Wal-Mart
cific set of hours. Under these
.a.t this store would be opened 24
when discussing screening. Mr. Miller also noted
nter was increased, and believed
ve just as irnuch as the Corporate
icern, they could build a smaller
sociation, asked that instead of
ck wall, and they have pictures
hat this building will be within
2a and they need not only the
ek, she stated that it has never
i by the Wal-Mart building, they
e for correcting them.
