?
one will be installed in frout and will contain the signage. The canopy will be painted a blue/green
and must match the existing color of the mansard on the rest of the shopping center. The interior
will be totally remodeled. He presented a rendering of the new Rini Rego Stop and Shop
Marketplace sigu. In reference to the Stop `n Shop logo, Mr. Gallagher pointed out that color
scheines have been reversed in the different renderings: one has a red back ground with white
letters and one has a white background with red letters. Mr. Rego, one of the owners, explained
that they have them both ways at different stores, but this one will have the whiie background.
The Plexiglas letters will be internally illuminated. Mr. Draeger explained that the owner is doing
a master parking lot parking plan so that will be presented separately. Building Commissioner
Conway explained that the landscaping was approved when the National City Bank Building was
approved, but since some compactors are to be added in the rear and some parking is being
altered, they will be presenting a new parking plan in the future. He is meeting with the owner and
his architect on this. There will be no new roof top units added. They have added units on the
ground in the back. The sign has red Plexiglas letters and is the same as their other stores. The
window frames will be bronze anodized aluminum. T. Gallagher moved to approve the Rini Rego
Marketplace, 4700 Crreat Northern Boulevard, as presented for the small addition with all colors
matching the existing colors, seconded by Y. Sohn, and unanimously approved.
2) Storefrout Renovations, 27080 to 27092 Lorain Road
Minor chauge to store front.
Referred by Planning Commission.
T. Weitz, arclutect, explained that the colors had changed previously, but now the owner has
gone back to what is shown on the color board presented, so the building will be the dark gray
and the trim will be the light gray. However, all the reoessed ateas (at the doorways) will be the
lighter gray, the lighter gray will be used on the wood on the front of the building under the
overhang of the recessed area so the recessed areas and the area below the windows will have a
paneled look_ The awning on the front will be solid dark green (stripe on the awning shovvu on
the plan had been eliminated), and the names of the businesses will be applied to the awning in a
light gray, there will be a light green stripe around the building, but will stop at the awniings both
those in front and the burgundy awnings in the back. Since the back entrance is the main entrance,
those doors will be half glass, not solid as shown. The deck in the back will have a handicapped
ramp and the floor will be constructed of a material called trax which they will install so there will
be no joints to hinder a wheel chair and will be in a natural color and the rest of the deck will be
Wolmanized lumber. Mr. Sohn questioned why the awnings were a different color in the front and
the back. Mr. Weitz stated that, since someone driving down Lorain will see both the front and
the back of the building, the two separate awnings will add interest and the stripe will tie the
building together. Tfie doors will be metal, with a wood grain finish in a beige or light brown. He
clarified that all the brick and block on this building will be covered with a material similar to
Dryvit called Tex-Coat. Mr. Conway would like information and the specifications on the material
in order to determine if it is being applied correctly. Mr. Weitz explained that they would be using
a certified installer and he was advised by the ma.nufacturer that the building had to be cleaned
before the material was applied. In reference to the utilities, he advised that they were going to try
to lude the wires on the top of the building in the back so they would be hidden behind some trim
board, but the contractor has suggested bringing the wires inside the building.
