The members had no problem with the request. R. Gomersall moved <br />to grant,the request of Douglas and Betty Dimond, 24180 Palm Drive, for a 6.5 <br />foot rear yard vaxiance to construct an addition, seconded by T. Koberna, and <br />unanimously approved. Variance granted. <br />13. Leader Mortgage Co., 24060 Lorain Road. <br />Request for variance (1123.12). Request 14 square foot total sign area variance <br />for a wall sign on a business unit. Violation of Ord. 90-125, Section 1163.11(c). <br />Chairman Gomersall called all interested parties_before the board. The oath was <br />administered to Mr. Nfayes and Mr. Helbig, Leader Mortgage Company. NIr. Conway <br />stated that this sign is not extremely large, but this shopping center does have <br />a large free standing sign. In this case, he advised tha.t if this sign area were <br />figured in 2 rectangulax areas, without counting the white background, the sign <br />would ba 23 square feet so only a 4. square foot variance would be needed. T. <br />Koberna moved to glcant a request for Leader Mortgage Company, 24060 Lorain Road, <br />for a 4 square foot total sign area variance for a wall on a business unit, <br />seconded by R. Gomersall, and Lmanimously approved. Variance granted. <br />14. Roger & Ma.rie Wertman, 24421 Carla Lane. <br />Request for variance (1123.12). Request 24.2 foot rear yard vaxiance to <br />construct patio enclosure. 'Violation of Ord. 90-125, Section 1135.08(a). Also <br />request special permit to add to non conforming dwelling. The oath was <br />administered to Mr. Wagner, contractor, Mrs. Stralka owner, and to neighbors, Mr. <br />Ghezzi, Mr. Jezeski, and Mr. Yanky, adjacent neigFibors. Mr. Gomersall noted that <br />this is a pie shaped lot. Yx. Wagner explained that they are asking to install a <br />summer room over an existing deck. He expl'ained that the roof will match the <br />PXlsting as closely as possible; the structure will be about 16 feet from grade. <br />Mr. Gomersall showed the plans to the neighbors. It was explained that in this <br />case the rear yard had to be figured on the average depth and that a special <br />permit would. be required since the house is non-conforriing to begin with. 7here <br />would be gutters and downspouts. After the explanation; the neighbors had no <br />objections. R. Gomersall moved to grant the request for a 11.5 foot rear yard <br />variance to construct a patio enclosure and to grant a special permit to add to a <br />non-conforming dwelling, seconded by J. rlaloney, and tmanimously approved. <br />Variance and special permit granted. <br />r
