foot pool, is only 48 inches deep. It was clarified that the depth was the height of the side walls,
not the water. It was explained that a variance was needed because the pool exceeded what was
allowed, and he would need a variance even with a 24 foot pooL Ms. Boyle advised that there
was a neighbor objecting to the size. Building Commissioner Conway advised that an approximate
110 square foot variance would be required with a 24 foot pooL Mr. Crnjak agreed to iristall a 24
foot pooL J. Maloney moved to grant the request for Lewis Cmjak, 4555 Selhurst Avenue, for an
approximate 110 square foot variance for area of cwimming pool which will exceed the permitted
20% coverage of rear yard area. The size of this pool will be 24 foot in diameter, seconded by W.
Purper, and unanimously approved. Variance granted. Mr. Crnjak asked the board if he would
have a problem adding onto his house. He was advised that he would need a variance, and this
would basically amount to filling up his whole back yard, and it was suggested that he talk to the .
Building Commissioner before having any extensive plans drawn.
3. Jorlyn Whitmore, 6330 Christman Dr.
Request for variance (1123.12). Request 5 foot rear yard variauce to install roof over patio.
Violation of Ord. 90-125, Section 1135.08(a).
Chairman Gomersall called all interested parties before the board. The oath was administered to
Mr. Zielinski, contractor. This is only installing a roof over the patio and the members had no
problem with the request. W. Purper moved to grant the request of Jorlyn Whitmore, 6330
Christman Drive for a 5 foot rear yard variance to install roof over a patio, seconded by R.
Gomersall, and unaniinously approved. Variance granted.
4. Your Tnewriter Co., 29975 Lorain Road.
Request for variance (1123.12). Request extension of variance to keep temporary ground sign.
Also request 7 foot side yard variance and variance for location of sign in prohibited 35 foot
triangular area. Also request 1 foot height variance. Original temporary variance granted June 3,
1993. Heard by the Architectural Review Board on May 18, 1994.
Chairman Gomersall called all interested parties before the board. The oath was administered to
Mr. Fletcher, sign designer, who explained that this was a new owner who just took over the
business and could not afford to install a permanent sign. The Architectural Board had refused to
accept this as a perma.uent sign, so they are now asking for a 9 month or 1 year extension for the
temporary sign. Mr. Gomersall stated that since this is a new owner, he would willing to grant
the request. Mr. Koberna agreed. The members agreed that 6 months `'extension should be
sufficient. Mr. Gomersall advised that the sign was not 6 foot tall as stated in the agenda and did
not need a height variance. M. Boyle moved to grant Your Typewriter Co, 29975 Lorain Road,
their request for the extension of the variance to keep a temporary sign for 6 months, and also to
grant the request for a 7 foot side yard variance, a variance for the location of the sign in
prohibited 35 foot triangular area, the 1 foot height variance, seconded by R. Gomersall,' and
unanimously approved. Variances granted.
5. Mr. & Mrs. Palley, 23062 MacBeth Road.
Request for variance (1123.12). Request 7 foot rear yard variance to construct a patio enclosure.
Violation of Ord. 90-125, Section 1135.08(a).
2
