Maloney moved to <br />grant to the Church of St. Clarence, 30106 Lorain Road, their request for variance to have a <br />search light for the annual festival June 17 through June 19th and that should abide by the <br />ordinance that they should turn off the light at 11:00 p.m. and that they should have some side <br />light protection so as not to disturb the neighbors, seconded by R. Gomersall, and unanimously <br />approved. Variance granted. 9. Church of St. Clarence, 30106 Lorain Road. <br />Request for variance (1123.12). Request 48 foot rear yard variance to construct deck on existing <br />pavilion. Violation of Ord. 90-125, Section 1139.07. Also request special permit to add to non- <br />conforming building. specialpermit requiredby Ord. 90-125, Section 1165.02(b)(1). <br />Chairmau Gomersall called all interested parties before the board. The oath was aduiinistered to <br />1VIr. Kazmarcyk, contractor. Mr. Gomersall explained the request. Building Commissioner <br />Conway noted that the property to the rear was the Metro Parks who had not responded to the <br />notice. (Covered stairway and 2nd floor porch will also be <br />encroaching in 50 foot rear yard setback.) The garage doors were <br />designed to look more like a modern colonial. The garage is 17 feet from the building line of the <br />house next door and 15 feet from the overhang. They have talked with some of the neighbors, but <br />one house is empty and another neighbor is moving. A 10 foot variance was granted to the garage <br />in the rear. The members agreed that this was an improvement. W.
