the same time. Mr. Maloney stated that these search lights do have shields that will prohibit the <br />light from shining out to the side so that they do not disturb neighbors. One neighbor, Ms. <br />Balough had advised in writing that she had no objection to the request. J. Maloney moved to <br />grant to the Church of St. Clarence, 30106 Lorain Road, their request for variance to have a <br />search light for the annual festival June 17 through June 19th and that should abide by the <br />ordinance that they should turn off the light at 11:00 p.m. and that they should have some side <br />light protection so as not to disturb the neighbors, seconded by R. Gomersall, and unanimously <br />approved. Variance granted. 9. Church of St. Clarence, 30106 Lorain Road. <br />Request for variance (1123.12). Request 48 foot rear yard variance to construct deck on existing <br />pavilion. Violation of Ord. 90-125, Section 1139.07. Also request special permit to add to non- <br />conforming building. specialpermit requiredby Ord. 90-125, Section 1165.02(b)(1). <br />Chairmau Gomersall called all interested parties before the board. The oath was aduiinistered to <br />1VIr. Kazmarcyk, contractor. Mr. Gomersall explained the request. Building Commissioner <br />Conway noted that the property to the rear was the Metro Parks who had not responded to the <br />notice. Ms. Balough, a neighbor, had advised earlier that she had no objections. The members <br />had no problem with the proposal. T. Koberna moved to grant the request of the Church of St. <br />Clarence, 30106 Lorain Road, for a 48 foot rear yard variance to construct a deck on existing <br />pavilion, and a special permit to add- to a non-conforming building, seconded by J. Maloney, and <br />unanimously approved. Variance granted. <br />10. Adam and Shirley Moon, 3119 Clague Road. <br />Request for variance (1123.12). Request 2 foot, 6 inch side yard variance and 11 foot, 6 inch rear <br />yard variance to construct attached garage. (Covered stairway and 2nd floor porch will also be <br />encroaching in 50 foot rear yard setback.) Violation of Ord. 90-125, Section 1135.07 and <br />1135.08. <br />Chairman Gomersall called all interested parties before the board. The oath was administered to <br />Mr. Moon and his father in law, Mr. Main, who explained that the house is two story a century <br />home, and they are reversing the jgable so that it does not look so deep. The garage doors were <br />designed to look more like a modern colonial. The garage is 17 feet from the building line of the <br />house next door and 15 feet from the overhang. They have talked with some of the neighbors, but <br />one house is empty and another neighbor is moving. A 10 foot variance was granted to the garage <br />in the rear. The members agreed that this was an improvement. W. Purper moved to grant to <br />Adam and Shirley Moon, 3119 Clague Road, their request for a 2 foot, 6 inch side yard variance <br />and an 11 foot, 6 inch rear yard variance to construct an attached garage (Covered stairway and <br />2nd floor porch will also be encroaching in 50 foot rear yard setback.), seconded by T. Kobema, <br />and unanimously approved. Variances granted. <br />11. Robert Larsen, 3696 West 230th St. <br />Request for variance (1123.12).
