Mr. Gomersall believed that it was probably more than just the overhaug, but there was <br />no objection. to the request. R. Gomersall moved to grant the request of Dennis W. The oath was administered to <br />Mh and Mrs. Slifko and Mr. Wagner, contractor, who presented the plans. It was clarified that <br />this would be 12 feet out, and there was 3 feet before they encroached in the 50 foot setback. The <br />members had no problem with the request. J. Maloney moved to grant the request of George <br />Slifko, 24353 North Oxford Oval, for a 9 foot rear yard variance to construct enclosed patio, <br />seconded by R. Gomersall, and u.nanimously approved. Variance granted. <br />12. Ganley Honda, 27870 Lorain Rd. <br />Request for variance (1123.12). Request 34 square foot variance for maximum signage allowed <br />on a business u.nit. Also request 18 square foot variance for maximum signage allowed for a wall <br />sign. Violation of Ord. 90-125, Sections 1163.11 (c) and 1163.11 (b). Note: if window signs are <br />kept for over 30 days, a variance and permit will be required. Also, the pole sign is not being <br />addressed at this time. <br />Chairmau Gomersall called all interested parties before the board. The oath was administered to <br />Mr. Kalina, sign contractor. Mr. Gomersall would have preferred that a representative from the <br />company had been present, since the members had a problem with all the window signs. Mr. <br />Kalina advised that they were given permits for these as temporary signs for a 30 day period. Now <br />they have covered all the signs of the previous owner, and these will be removed. He explained <br />that the wall sign that says "automobiles" would be changed to say "Ganley" and would be moved <br />over to the sign that says "Honda" and they would use the same cabinets. Mr. Gomersall <br />questioned why this sign had different types of letters, and the Pontiac has the same letters. Mr. <br />Ka.lina stated that they did this because there was already a problem with the amount of signage <br />and this would not increase the sign area. Mr. Conway clarified that when the application for this <br />hearing was made, Mr. Kalina was not able to address the pole sign, but now he is requesting to <br />4
