It was suggested that every other pole could be le$ on all <br />night. Mi-. Tallon explained that everyone uow wants to make an arclutectural statement with lighting, <br />and there is conceru that the city would look like a Las Vegas strip. He clarified that the vine poles <br />adjacent to the residents should be reduced to 15 feet, and they should attempt to reduce the <br />photometrics to be as close as possible to zero at the residential lot lines. He asked them to identify <br />wluch lights will be left on all iught at the next ineeting. Buildiug Cominissioner Conway asked that they <br />present a revised site plan before the arclutectural review boai•d ineeting showuig the old curb cut <br />restored and the uon confoi7ning parkuig space on Barton Road removed. R. Tallon inoved to refer the <br />Christ 'The King proposal, 30635 Lorain Road, to construct to an addition for classrooms and a <br />gyinnasium to the arclutectural review board, the Engineeiing and Safety Departinents for their input <br />and when they retuin, the plans should show the following: the existing drive reinstated with the one to <br />the east removed; the removal of the two parking spaces on the soutlieast comer of the parking lot; the <br />ligliting plau should indicate wluch lights wei-e the iught lights; that the poles ou the perimeter are to be <br />lowered; it should be indicated somewhere on the prints the 'Hitention of putting a timer on some of the <br />lighting; and should also include buffering betweeu the parking and the adjaceut residential area on the <br />southwest corner. It is to be uoted that pi-oposal was heard by the board of zoniiig appeals ou October <br />5, 1995 and tliat the pai-cels must be coinbined. The motion was secouded by T. Brennau, and <br />unaluinously approved. Mr. Robinsov will subinit the laiidscape plau on Friday so it can be sent to the <br />architectural review board with the agenda. <br />2) Kovalak Coimnercial Building (Kovepouit), sublot 10, North Ohnsted Iudustrial Parkway. <br />Proposal to constiuct office storage building. <br />Refenal to arclutectural review board is requu-ed. <br />Ms. Davis, representing the architect, preseuted revised a site plan, laudscape plans, a colored renderiug <br />and a color board of the materials to be used. She explained that the site is just at the neck of the cu1- <br />de-sac ou the Iudustrial Parkway. The site plan shows all the existiiig trees, two of which are right on <br />the periphery. There will oiily Ue about a 2 foot change in grade, but they will have to level some of the <br />d'u-t that had beev piled there. Mr. Bremiav noted that the ovviiers office will be suite "A" and the rest <br />would be lease space. Ms. Davis explaiued that two pole lights are shown, but they might be able to <br />eliminate one of them. Tliere will be wall pak lights over the wiudows and doors. Since this is au <br />industrial park, there are no nearby residents. There will be handicapped parkvig spaces, but they are <br />not shovvu on the plans. R. Tallon moved to accept the Kovalak Commercial Building (Kovepoint), <br />sublot 10, North Olinsted Iudustrial Pai-kway, the proposal to construct office storage building and to <br />refer it to the arclutectui-al review Uoard. All approvals will be dependent on the recoimnendations of <br />the arclutectural review board aiid the plans cau then go directly on the BZD Committee of Council. <br />The inotion was seconded by T. Breiuian, and uiiauimously appi-oved. <br />N. NEW DEVELOPMENTS AN-D SUBDNISIONS: <br />1) Lorain Road/Fleharty Aveuue Consolidation Plat. <br />The proposal is to combine Pei7naneut Parcel Nos. 236-3-8 and 236-3-9,10, 11 into one (1) parcel, <br />which is the site ofthe proposed Maijak Buildiug. Locatiou is the southeast coiYier ofthe Lorain/Fleharty <br />intersection. Zoning is Itetail Business, General, entirel_y. Tabled at plamuug coinmission ou September <br />26, 1995. <br />2
