Chainnan Goinersall called all uiterested parties before the board. The oath was admuustered to Mr. Avery, Mrs. Avery, Mr. Canti and Mr. Laprociuo. Mr. Gomersall noted that tlus hearing is regarding a 6 foot rear yard vaiiance and has notlung to do with operating a day care center. It was explained the proposal was to enclose the patio in the rear of the house, wluch will encroach on the 50 foot setback requirement by 6 feet. The members had no problem with the request. T. Kobenia moved to grant the request of Roydean Aveiy, 6010 Forest Ridge Road, for a 6 foot rear yard vai-iance to coustiuct addition. Violation of Ord. 90-125, Section 11.35.08(2). The motion was seconded by R. Gomersall and uuaniinously approved. Variauce granted. 9. Leviu Fui7uture, 23354 Lorain Road. Request for vaiiance (1123.12). Request 193.67 square foot vaiiance for excess sigu area for a business use and also request 4 foot 8 inch height variance exceeding the 4 foot high vertical d'unension pennitted. Violation of Ord. 90-125, Section 1163.11(a) and 1163.12(a). Note color of sigu to be burgundy as requued by plavning comnission. Chairuiaii Gomersall called all interested parties before the board. The oath was admivistered to Mr. Sawitke and MI-. Gross. Mr. Sawitke stated that he did not want a 4 foot 8 inch sigu. It was clarified that 4 foot 8 inches was not the size of the sigu, but how much it exceeded the height required by code. In response to Mr. Sawitke's questiou, 1Vli•. Kobei-na stated that Sears Hardware came before this board for size aud dimensions, but tlus board does not deal with color requirements. Chairman Goinersall explaiued that plaiming commission made the requuement for color ofthe sigus on that building. Mr. Sawitke noted that the Sears Hardware sigu is red, white and blue. It was clarified that Sears Hardware will be at the next plaiming cominission meetiug regarding tlus issue. Mr. Sawitke stated he could not get on the planuiug cominission agenda until September, and is concei-ued because Levin Furniture plans to open prior to September. It was stated uuinerous tunes tlus board does not make requirements for color and Sears will ltave to come back to plauning commission because they are the wrong color. Assistant Building Cominissioner Rymarczyk noted that they will have to go before plauning commissiou for the color aud it would be up to the chainnau to deterinine the date. Law Director Gareau believed plauniug commission probably origuially wanted a uuifonn burgundy sigu on the eutire buildiug, but could not unagine anyoue ul the city making a requuement for burguudy. Mr. Sawitke requested approval for the size of the sigu and a temporaiy sigu, if tliis does uot get to plamuug commission prior to September. The members did not see a problem grautiug this variauce and would approve a tempoi-aiy banner as long as it is removed upon approval of the sign by planuing commissioii. Mr. Sawitke made a remark that they were in a bind because they could not get on the next plavning cominission agenda. In response, Clerk of Coimnissions Oring clarified that the agenda is not set as yet and it would be up to the chau-man to allow tlus itein. Chau7nan Gomersall again stressed tlus Uoard is restricted fi-om approviug the color of tlus sigu. Chau7nan GoLnersall moved to grant the proposal of Levin Fuiuature, located at 23354 Lorain Rd, for a 193.67 square foot variance for excess sigu area for a business use and also request 4 foot 8 inch height variance exceeding the 4 foot lugh vertical d'unensiou permitted.
