Mr. Mauning and Mr. <br />Tallou discussed emergency exits privately. <br />R Tallou moved to refer the Radisson Hotel, 25070 Couutry Club Blvd., proposal to coustruct au <br />addition, to the Safety Departinent aud request that Police and Fu•e check out the radius on the <br />driveways, the possibility of installing an exit on the northeast coruer of the banquet facility, to the Fire <br />Department to check on the elevation changes on the north side of the buildiug over the ballrooin, ask <br />that the developer re-install the islands in the parkiug lot, indicate a counector sidewalk between the <br />restaurant property and the hotel property. The Building Department will check out the site parking, to <br />detennine if there is auy land banked parking on the site and the exact number of parkiug spaces needed; <br />also to check the southeast quadrant of the Corporate Center for landbanked areas. This proposal will <br />also be refened to the arclutectural review board for theu• review of the design of the north elevation, <br />the ballroom, with the understauding that all materials and desigu will be identical to the existing. The <br />motion was seconded by A. Manning aud unanimously approved. <br />During the framing of the motion, it was decided that this proposal could go on to board of zoning <br />appeals on February 13th, to arclutectural review board on F.ebiuary 19th, aud return to pla.vuing <br />cominission on February 25th. Mr. Herbster would like the site plan to show the compactor and/ or <br />dumpster aud lighting on the site plans. Members are concerned about the fire exit doors in the ballroom <br />area. Mr. Rymarczyk stated tlus would be address during the plan review examination. <br />R Tallon moved to refer the Radisson Hotel, 25070 Country Club Blvd., proposal to construct an <br />addition to the board of zoning appeals with the recommendation that the variance for two truck <br />loadiug areas be granted, seconded by R Koeth, and unanimously approved. <br />3) Paletta's Auto Trim, 30514 Lorain Road. <br />Proposal to construct addition to building. <br />Denied at arclutectural review board on December 18, 1996. <br />Heard by architectural review board on January 22, 1997. <br />Mr. Myer, contractor, presented the plans that reflect. the recommendations of the plauving commission <br />that the planting bed be extended and the fascia raised so the height is the same on both sections of the <br />building. The color rendering shows the colors and materials as recommended by the architectural <br />review board: the masonry material is now a split face integrally colored block (Ducheni, Inc. D22 <br />Charcoal); the fascia material has been changed to a meta124 gauge Alcan "Nantucket, which is a bluish <br />gray; the trim will be rain dance; and plauting beds have been enlarged. They have found a method to <br />stain and seal the existing brick to a matching gray. He explained that staining the brick will be <br />permanent aud was recommended by the architectural review board. He clarified that there will be a <br />difference in the masonry material on the north elevations, but it will all be the same color. He explained <br />that the southern most curb cut off Barton would be removed and landscaping increased in this area, <br />and he advised that they have added a total of 1,800 square feet of landscaping that was not there <br />previously, 1,444 more than the plamung commission requested. There is one parking space in the <br />front, and since tlus is not a retail operation, it does not require a lot of parking on site. There is <br />presently lighting in the overhang of the existing building, and they are not planniug any on the exterior <br />of the new section. The lighting now high lights the sign, but now the sign will be removed. <br />5
