The oath was admiuistered to Mr.
Trolio who explained the inspector who measured it stated it would need a 7 foot variance, but the
contractor had believed that it needed a 9 foot variance. Building Commissioner Conway stated that the
inspector based his measurements on the orig'vial site plan, but if the house was not built in the exact
location and a 9 foot variance is required, it would not be au issue. He stated that the board could go
with the 7 foot variance, just so the board is aware that it ends up to be 9 feet, he will not bring it back.
The members had no problem with it.
W. Purper moved to grant the request of Henry Trolio, 24437 Woodside drive for a 7 foot rear yard
setback variance to construct porch addition. Violation of Ord. 90-125, Section 1135.08(a). with the
condition that if there is a site error in the plan, then the 9 foot would apply. The motion was seconded
by T. NOTE: GROUND SIGN IS
NON-CONFORMING AND MUST BE REMOVED BY 1/1/98 UNLESS EXEMPTED FROM
SECTION 1163.26.
Chairman Gomersall called all interested parties before the board. The oath was administered to Mr.
Walser, and Mr. LaSalla, representing Enteiprise, and Mr. Scher, representing the neighbors. Mr.
Gomersall reviewed the request. Mr. WaLser explained that they will be removing one column and just
leave the brick. Building Commissioner Conway advised that this would not reduce the size because this
is an architectural feature, and he just considers the copy. Mr. Walser presented the site plan stated that
they would be taking offthe rear column but they would like to keep sign in the same place. Mr.
Conway is concerned that this could block visibility, when drivers come out of the drive and try to turn
left. He would like drivers to be able to see over it. He would like a no left turn sign. The developers
agreed to that. Mr. Conway noted that the building is not visible because of the two buildings on each
side, so they need something in front. Mr. Maloney wondered if the sign could be moved back. The
members agreed that then the sign would not be visible at all, and it would be almost impossible to turn
left out of this drive. Mr. Conway pointed out that there employees would be delivering the cars, so it
would not be a high traffic area. He believed that it would be best to keep the sign as low as possible.
6
