Violation of Ord. 90-125, Section 1163.11(A) and 1163.11(C). The motion was <br />seconded by J. Maloney and u.nanimously approved. Mr. Koberna reiterated this could not be exempt <br />from the January 1, 1998 ordinance, because the pole sign is included in the total signage for this <br />request. <br />10. Radisson Hotel, 25070 Country Club Blvd. <br />Request for variance (1123.12). Request variance to have one less than the ininiinum number of <br />loading spaces required. Violatiou of Ord. 90-125, Section 1161.13 (E). <br />Chauman Gomersall called all interested parties before the board. The oath was administered to Mr. <br />Kaczmar, architect. It was explained that three loading zones are required, and these plans show two. <br />Mr. Kaczmar explained that they are proposing two docks in the same location as the existing loading <br />and service area which the management believed would adequately handle their requirements. The <br />existing area is a one truck area and they are providing a trash area in the same location. He explained <br />how the trucks pulled into the area which is immediately adjacent to the kitchen which is to be <br />expanded. He clarified that they mostly have small trucks. R. Gomersall moved to grant the Radisson <br />Hotel, 25070 Country Club Boulevard their request for a variauce to have one less than the minimum <br />number of loading spaces required. Violation of Ord. 90-125, Section 1161.13 (E). The motion was <br />seconded by T. Koberna, and unavunously approved. Variance granted. . <br />11. Hollvwood Video 4692-4678 Great Northern B1vd. <br />- Request for variance (1123.12). Request the following signage variances: <br />A 187.5 square foot variance for total sign area; a 3.5 foot height variance for bu.ilding wall sign; <br />and a variance for four additional awning signs. <br />Violation of Ord. 90=125, Section 1163.12(A). <br />NOTE: If recommendations of planning commission are followed, awnings are to be plain red with <br />no back lighting and would not be considered signage. Above signs are all non-conforming and must <br />be removed by Januar.y 1, 1998. <br />Chairinau Gomersall called all interested parties before the board. The oath was, administered to Mr. <br />Klien, arclutect and Mr. McAndrews, real estate d.irector. Mr. Gomersall noted planning commission <br />had a problem with the yellow film strip on the awning. Mr. McAndrews agreed to make the awing <br />solid red and remove the film strip: Assistant Builcling Commissioner Rymarczyk advised the awniugs <br />were included as signage when determining the total square footage. Mr. Klien explained the sign will <br />be mounted on a new facade. Mr. Koberna noted the variance request for four additional wall signs <br />should be elimiuated. He clarified it is no longer needed because the awnings are not illuminated and <br />the logo has been removed. Based on requests from various board members as well as the landlord, <br />Mr. McAnd.rews agreed to remove the mountains if and when Hollywood Video ever vacates. The <br />members verified the location of the proposal and agreed to exempt the signage from returning on <br />January 1, 1998. <br />R. Gomersall moved to grant to Hollywood Video, 4692-4678 Great Northern Blvd. the following <br />agreed to modified variances: A 187.5 square foot variance for total sign area and a 3.5 foot height <br />variance for bu.ild.ing wall sign.
