Purper moved to grant the request of T. & A. Deanovich, 24907 Gessner Road, for a 2 foot side setback variance; also to grant a 5 foot rear setback variance; and a 2 foot variance for distance between proposed detached garage and dwelling. Note: existing attached garage will be converted into living area. Violation of Ord. 90-125, Section 1135.02(c)(2). The motion was seconded by J. Maloney, and unauiinously approved. Variance granted. 4. Ohio Savings Bank, Brilliant Electric Signs, 4800 Great Northern Boulevard. Request for variance (1123.12). Request a variance to install a second and third wall sign (one permitted) on drive-up ATM kiosk. Request a 25 square foot variance for business use signage. Violation of Ord. 90-125, Sections 1163.12(a) and 1163.11(b). Note Ground sign has been proposed, but no permit has been issued (see request below). NOTE: NON-CONFORMING SIGNS MUST BE REMOVED BY JANLTARY 1, 1998 PER ORDINANCE 90-125 SECTION 1163.26, UNLESS AN EXEMPTION IS GRANTED BY THE BOARD OF ZONING APPEALS. Chairman Gomersall called all interested parties before the board. The oath was ad.miuistered to Mr. Sawicki, sign contractor. It was clarified that there are two separate requests for variances by two different sign companies. This is to install a second and third sign on the ATM kiosk, which Mr. Sawicki did not understand since it is only a small directional sign. He explained that they needed to identify which ATM was there. Assistant Building Commissioner Rymarczyk explained that this building is an accessory structure and is considered part of the business and the main building. It was explained that one sign would be on the east and one on the west. The building is 13 feet, 6 inches long and approximately 4 feet wide. Mr. Miller wondered why they needed a sign on the west since it would only be visible from the store in the back. The west sign would be visible from Brookpark Road. Mr. Rymarczyk believed that the front of the build.ing was 4 foot. Mr. Sawicki disagreed since the front facing Great Northern Boulevard was 13, foot 6 inches. It was agreed that the front was on Crreat Northern Boulevard. Mr. Miller would like the west sign cut down. Mr. Kobema pointed out that the letters were only 1 foot high, and only the letters would be illuminated. Mr. Rymarczyk was not sure the requested 25 square foot variance was correct. Law Director Gareau thought that this was figured as part of the main bu.ilding. Mr. Rymarczyk agreed it would be a 25 square foot variance. T. Koberna moved to grant the request Ohio Savings Bank, 4800 Crreat Northem Boulevard for a variance to install a second and third wall sign (one permitted) on drive-up ATM kiosk. Also to grant a 25 square foot variance for business use signage. With the notation that this sign be exempted from Ord. 90-125, Section 1163.26 concerning the amortizing of non-conforming signs. Violation of Ord. 90- 125, 5ections 1163.12(a) and 1163.11(b). The motion was seconded by P. Miller, and unanimously approved. Variances granted. Mr. Maloney arrived during the above discussion. 5. Ohio Savings, Allied Lighting, 4800 Great Northern Blvd. Request for variance (1123.12). Request location variance for ground sign which is in the prohibited triangular area; request 22 foot side line variance for location of sign; request 46 square foot variance for sign area allowed for a business use; request 2 foot 1 inch height variance; and request a 21 square foot variance for sign face area for a ground sign. 3
