It was also sug- <br />gested that some landscaping be planned for front planting strip and <br />that landscaping plan be submitted to Planning Commission. D. Pattison <br />moved to approve proposal as stipulated with the brick on three sides; <br />with the roof entirely constructed witt-ifire retardant wood in the addi- <br />tion and with the windows to match the existing as planned, seconded <br />by J. Britton, and unanimously approved. <br />2) Rad-Air Systems Corp. 24260 Lorain Rd. <br />Exterior alteration of existing building. <br />Building-willbe a pale yellow with a goldish bronze facia which will <br />cover uneven roofs and will wrap around the west elevation; smaller <br />energy efficient windows will be installed in the front and have dark <br />brown trim; one garage door will be added and all tliree will be a darker <br />yellow color; a permanent awning to match the building will be installed <br />over the entrance; electrical service will be relocated to east corner <br />of the building and all but one wire will be eliminated, wires for ex- <br />isting pole sign will be put underground. S. Ebin moved to approve the <br />building plans as submitted, seconded by D. Pattison, and unanimously <br />approved. Board discussed signs. Sign presently located on front of <br />building will be relocated to west side of building and two new logo's <br />in black letters will be placed on facia and spotlighted from landscaped <br />areas. S. Ebin moved to approve signs as submitted, seconded by D. <br />Pattison, and unanimously approved. <br />3) Fretters, Inc.(G. Herschman), south west corner of Sparky Lane and <br />Brookpark Ext. <br />Proposal to construct retail store. <br />Mr. Klein, architect, explained that the 16,000 sq. ft. building will be <br />white split face block with gray accents; red steel grillage with a <br />white porcelain backgournd and yellow metal or porcelain canopy will be <br />installed over entrances, extending above roof and will contain the <br />internally illuminated sign. (white channel type letters on a red back- <br />ground); signs on the white building will be red letters. There are a <br />total of 5 signs on the building. Pole sign will be installed but is <br />not being presented at this time. The Building Commissioner advised <br />that he had not verified the sign area as yet. Same type grid work will <br />screen mechanical units on three sides; Board would like screening con- <br />tinued on all four sides with an opening for access. Masonary wall, <br />6 ft, high, with white vinyl clad mesh gates on one side will enclose <br />both the dumpsters and the transformers. Planning Commission had <br />suggested that the drive on Sparky Lane be right turn, exit only. Mr. <br />Pattison suggested that drive should be narrowed in order to prohibit <br />turning in from the left or that possibly a divider could be installed <br />if they wanted a right turn only into the property. Mr. Kline suggested <br />that they could move the drive north. Mr. Pattison does not believe <br />this would help the problem and suggested that a"no left turn" sign <br />be installed at this point and have a right turnonly into the property. <br />Handicapped ramp should be moved closer to the designated handicapped
