ARCHITECTURAL BOARD OF REVIEW_ APRIL 16, 1986 • PAGE 4
spaces. Additional landscaping will be added against the b uilding,
however, the Board would like sidewalks to service the parking areas.
Regarding the trees in the southern green area, Mr. Pattison would like
them concentrated up to the corner of the building, not between the backs
of the two buildings. D. Pattison moved to approve the building as
submitted relative to materials, colors, with the inclusion of land-
scaping as recommended by the Planning Commission incorporating side-
walks along both driveways to access parking; relocation of the handi-
capped ramp to the south taking it out of the main traffic pattern;-and
that the site plan be amended such that the southern drive accessing
Sparky Lane would preclude a left turn entering the site from Sparky
Lane, but that both left and right turns exiting could be permitted and
that mechanical screening be completed on the eastern portion, and that
we would concur with Flanning Commission's recommendation to add trees
and have them concentrated in the western edge of the southern pan
handle up to where they meet the building, seconded by J. Britton, and
unanimously approved. S. Ebin moved to approve the signs as submitted,
seconded by D. Pattison, and unanimously approved.
4) Med Center.(R. W. Paterson), 25757 Lorain Rd.
Proposal to construct an addition to the existing Med Center.
Mr. Paterson, architect, and Mr. Hummer, the owner, explained that the
one story addition would match the existing building; mechanical equip-
ment wi11 be grouped with the equipment on the existing building. Board
is concerned about protecting the building since it is right next to drive,
it was suggested that diagonal parking be installed adjacent to addition,
with a landscaped triangle at either side. This would eliminate 2 to
4 spaces, but according to Building Commissioner Spino parking should
still conform. This would enable them to have a narrower drive and allow
room for a curbed landscape area adjacent to the building. S: Ebin moved
to approve the plans with the recommendation that angle parking be intro-
duced, east of the addition and that to the north and south of-that
angle parking, curbed landscaped areas be added and that a curbed area
approximately 31 wide with shrub type landscaping be _introduced at
the east wall of the addition, seconded by D. Pattison, and unanimously
approved.
5) Kenny King Restaurant, 27899 and 27915 Lorain Rd.
Proposal to construct restaurant.
Mr. Salisbury, attorney, Mr. Dingwell, building consultant, and Mr.
Lawrence, realtor, represented Kenny Kings. Two residents, Mrs. Schmidtz,
and Mrs. Beck were present. Mr. Mahoney, the resident to the rear,
arrived during the discussion. Mr. Salisbury explained that b uilding
will be set back 110 feet from Lorain Road, a drive through window is-
planned, Gxeen area located at the rear of the property behind parking
area (with 39 spaces) is indicated as a mowed field and is separated
from the parking 1ot by a lAn,ds:eag:ed: area which includes Austrian pines.
Building will be a neutral colored face brick, with a terra cotta colored
mansard; a cream colored tr.im will be used under soffit, on the top, and
