Mr. Bugala took exception to <br />the fact that the homeowners seem to believe that Space Age was there il- <br />legally, when, in fact, the business is legally non-conforming. Law Director <br />Gareau stated that he believed that this lot was zoned to the property line <br />and suggested that perhaps.the homeowners had not seen the official zoning <br />map. Mrs. Hevelone submitted a copy of the map that was taken from the large <br />map, which she had been told was the official zoning map. After some dis- <br />cussion the case was recessed so that Mr. Gareau, Acting Building Commissioner <br />Sanker, and Mr. Hevelone could view the official zone map in the Engineering <br />Department. Violation of Ord. 62-33, Section 1121.06. The oath was <br />admtnistered to A. Ranke, First Neon Signs, who eXplained that this sign is <br />a newer sign that fiad been used at a previous location. Mr. Bugala stated <br />that this sign was too large and that they should replace the existing sign <br />with one thatmeets the code, R, Bugala moved to provide the 309 square <br />foot varia.nce for total sign area for Kiddie City at 4076 Great Northern <br />Blvd,, seconded by E. Graves, Ro11 call on motion: Bugala, Graves, <br />Gomersall, Helon, and Reminel, Nay, Motion failed to pass. The oath <br />was administered to Mr. G. Draeger, architect, and Miss D. Lontor, adminis- <br />trator and operator of the home. Mr. Draeger corrected the original request, <br />they only need a 25' rear yard variance, not a 30' rear yard variance as requested. Expansion to front and rear of existing building is needed to <br />add administrative offices, physical and occupational therapy rooms to meet <br />present licensing requirements. Existing front drive-will be eliminated and <br />drive installed at rear entrance. No canopy at rear entrance is shown on <br />plan and it was pointed out that if they decided to install one, a variance
