Traczyk, and unar.imously appr,oved. <br />4) Biskind Development Co., property located south of the existing Great <br />Northern Shoppirig Center and north of Plaza South (Parcel D). <br />Proposa-l to construct r:etail store and arcade addition to Plaza South. <br />Mr. Carlisle, Biskind Development Co., presented plans for the 16,000 <br />square-foot addition to-the northern end of Plaza-South which would be <br />the link be*ween the new:plaza and the existing shopping center. This <br />segment was not includeu in the original plans since all underground <br />utilities are located in this area and permission from the various <br />companies was needed to•r.e-locate them. Utilities will row be located <br />in a 14.9 foct area between the two plazas. Mr. Burns questioned if <br />there was a minimum space required above a gas line and away from a <br />building. The City Engineer has the.plans and the Law Department will <br />research this with the Engineer._ Architecture will be the same as <br />the original Plaza South. Plans are somewhat changed from the original <br />concept. Arcade will run from the old shopping ceater to Marshalls <br />in Plaza_South. -Ninety-two parking spaces are being provide3, 75 <br />are re;uired. T. Morgan noved tc forward the proposal to construct a <br />retail store and arcade addition to Plaza South by Biskind Development <br />Company to the Architectural Board of Review, the Safety Department <br />and the Engineering Department, and 'also the Law Department and Engi- <br />neering to review the adequacy o€ the space above the gas and other <br />utility lines, seconded by R. Chairman <br />Burns read a letter from the Law Department stating that property abutting <br />an interstate highway was not considered a through lot; that an area <br />was to be provided for loading; and that the Fire Department requires <br />20 foot access around exterior walls of commercial buildings and sug- <br />gested that the Fire Department should comment on these plans. --A letter <br />from Assistant Fire Chief R: Osterhouse stated, in part, "I feel that
