BOARD OF ZONING APPEALS JULY 5, 1984 PAGE 2 <br />half of the permitted area, so that when other tenant (with existing pole <br />sign) left, the new tenant could share the Computerland sign, and the <br />present pole sign could be removed. It was suggested that he try to share <br />the existing sign. It is very unlikely thatthis tenant would agree to <br />reduce his sign. C. Remmel moved to grant the variance, seconded by R. <br />Bugala. Roll call on motion: Remmel, Bugala, Graves, Helon, and Horvath, <br />Nay. Motion failed to pass. Variance denied. ' <br />4. Penny Thomascik, 24851 Fawn Dr. <br />Request for variance (1133.13). Request 4'9" total side yard variance to <br />construct detached garage (20' total sideyards required for house with de- <br />tached garage). Existing attached garage will be altered to appear as <br />part of house. Violation of Ord. 62-33, Section 1151.04-C. <br />Chairman Remmel called all interested parties before the Board. The oath <br />was administered to Mrs. Thomascik, who explained that they were planning <br />to remove the shed only if the Board approves the alternate request. First <br />request would alter detached garage to look like part of the home, but <br />would be used for storage and a work room (rear of garage would be made <br />into a hall for entrance to the house). Alternate request would have <br />both the attached garage (not altered) and a detached garage, then they <br />would have to remove the shed. Mrs. Thomascik prefers to have the first <br />request and would be willing to tear down the shed in order to received <br />that one. R. Bugala moved to approve the 4'9" total side yard variance on <br />the consideration that the shed will be torn down, seconded by E. Graves, <br />and unanimously approved. Variance granted. <br />5. Penny Thomascik, 24851 Fawn Dr. - Alternate request. <br />Request for variance (1133.13). Request 66 sq. ft. variance for garage <br />area for detached garage (attached garage will remain as is - existing <br />shed will be removed). Violation of Ord. 62-33, Section 1151.04-C. <br />Withdrawn. Received variance in item 4. <br />6. Peter Weber, 3181 West 231 St. <br />Request for variance (1133.13). Request 1' variance for fence. Violation <br />of Ord. 62-33, Section 1151.04-H. <br />Chairman Remmel called all interested parties before the Board. The oath <br />was administered to Mr. Weber. Mr. Bugala, Mr. Remmel, and Mr. Graves <br />stated that they thought 5' fence would be sufficient. Mr. Weber stated <br />that his patio is about a foot higher than the yard next door and a 5' <br />fence would not afford enough privacy. R. Bugala moved to approve the <br />Peter Weber request for a 1' variance for a fence, seconded by R. Graves. <br />Roll call on motion: Bugala, Graves, Horvath, and Remmel, Nay. Mr. <br />Helon, Aye. Motion failed to pass. Variance denied. <br />7. Edwin Hill, 5101 Lucydale Ave. <br />Request for variance (1133.13). Request 7' gear yard var2ance for screened <br />porch.
