It has also indicated physical
changes to the existing parking lot (restriping, relocation of
light poles and fire hydrants) to which Gold Circle has not
agreed. Furthermore, its plan contemplates a parking arrange-
ment which will severely impede, if not prevent, the ingress
and egress of tractor trailers to the Gold Circle loading dock
and which will probably not be permitted by the local utility
company because of planned parking immediately adjacent to the
large electrical transformer next to the Gold Circle loading
dock.
This letter will confirm that because of the many unresolved
questions and complications concerning this expansion, which
we discussed with you, this expansion request will not be enter-
tained by the North Olmsted Planning Commission as scheduled
on Tuesday, March 27. It is our understanding that you will
remove this item from the agenda, and that it will be scheduled
again, once we have had an opportunity to resolve all of the
outstanding issues with Ray Fogg Building Methods, Inc. and
the school.
Once again, I want to make it clear that it is not the inten-
tion of Gold Circle to prevent.the expansion. We do not have
any problem in principle with what the school is trying to ac-
complish. We do, however, take exception to the owner of the
property filing an expansion plan which was, apparently, on its
way to approval by the City, which incorporated property it
does not own. The plan which has been submitted cannot pos-
sibly work unless the land exchange which we have proposed is
put into effect, or some other type of agreement is reached.
Once again, we appreciate your time and your co-operation in
taking this item off the agenda. I trust that it will not be
brought before you again until all of the many issues which must
be resolved with Gold Circle are taken care of beforehand.
Sincerely yours, Gary L. Farmer, Realty Manager."
Safety Department report requested by the Commission reads as follows:
After an on site inspection and talking to Mr. Richard H.
Anderson, School Manager of Bryant & Stratton, the following
change will be required by the North Olmsted Fire Department.
Moving of the fire hydrant, this is in the parking lot at the
southwest corner of the school, in a westerly direction so
that it will not be in the proposed driveway.
Note: The existing parking as shown on the proposed plan is
actually 20 feet west of its present location which would
place the fire hydrant in the proposed driveway. (see attached)
Respectfully submitted: Richard P. Limpert, Assistant Fire Chief"
