Standard Oil Company, 23425 Lorain Road <br />Proposal to demolish and rebuild on the site. <br />No representative present. The Commission decided to table <br />until the next meeting and requested that Sohio have a repre- <br />sentative present to explain the proposal. B. Gorris moved to <br />table the Standard Oil Proposal until a representative is pre- <br />/ sent,+seconded by J. Wixted, and unanimously approved. <br />3. Occupancy change from Superior Muffler to a Liquor Store <br />at 4710 Great Northern Blvd. <br />Proposal for exterior elevation change. <br />•. No representative was present. Mr. Kevin Leo of Mongello and <br />Associates, present for another item agreed to represent owner <br />since he is familiar with the project. Commission questioned <br />proximity of liquor store to adjacent toy stor.e. Also had pro- <br />blems with placing such a high traffic business in such a con- <br />jested shopping center. Only access is from Great Northern Blvd. <br />and cars must travel through grocery store and toy store parking <br />lot drives and area is not easily accessible. Also since the <br />. •building is adjacent to Brookpark Rd. which is limited access, <br />the State might be more likely to remove the limited access <br />, restriction. Law Director Dubelko stated that code did not <br />• cover proximity of liquor stores to other businesses. Mr. Leo <br />stated that he did not think that State had approved location <br />•' as yet. Mr. Roberts would like to advise the State of the <br />Commission's objections to the location. Mr. Burns believed <br />that this should be Council's decision, since according to code <br />this proposal is a proper use. Assistant Law Director Dubelko <br />stated that the Commissions objection on the basis-of traffic <br />congestion was a legitimate concern and he will research the <br />5tate Codes.to determine if any procedures.are stated for peti- <br />tioning the State in order to object to the location of the <br />. proposed State Liquor Storea T. Morgan moved to table the change <br />of occupancy from Superior Muffler to a Liquor Store until a <br />representative is present and request that the Law Department <br />research the codes relative to petitioning the State regarding <br />the location of the proposed store and refer to the Safety De- <br />partment for their thoughts as to the location of this business <br />in this area, seconded by J. Roberts, and unanimously approved. <br />4. Wendy's Restaurant, 26650 Lorain Road <br />Proposal for exterior elevation change. <br />Mr. Wills explained the proposal for curved, red and yellow <br />striped awnings which will camouflage a dropped ceiling inside <br />and also cover design work which was installed for previous
