ARCHITECTURAL BOARD OF REVIEW JANUARY 19, 1983 PAGE 2
that they had originally planned to have two ground signs without
knowing that only one ground sign was permitted. They are now
only planning to have one ground sign approximately 6' by 6'
and similar but not identical to the color rendering presented;
the actual name of the facility has not been decided upon. Mr.
Ebin stated that the inset base which was shown on the original
plans was preferable to the one shown with the sign and base at
the same line. There will also be an "emergency" sign on the
canopy which was shown on the color rendering of the building,
but had not been submitted prior to this meeting. Since the
signs as submitted are not what will be applied for, it was
suggested that they be submitted with exact copy, size and
design at a later meeting. In reference to the building, Mr.
Kohanski had a color rendering, however, it has been necessary to
flip the plans so that now the canopy side of the front section
of the building will be on the west side. No mechanical in-
stallations were shown. He explained that there would be 4
roof top units on the 3 story section of the building; no sc:reen-
ing is shown. The unit for the one story building will be be-
hind the canopy. No elevations were available. No dumpsters
are planned since trash will be contained inside the building.
The exterior of the building will be Beldon Brick #476-479
and dryvit with bronze aluminum trim. The site plan shows 17'
deep parking spaces abuting a concrete walk 3' of which will be
used for overhang for the cars and 2 ft. will remain. Mr.
Mongello questioned the 9' wide parking.,spaces, which conforms,
but might not be suitable for a medical office. The landscape
plan is acceptable with the exception of the white pines at
the driveway entrances which could obstruct vision sometime in
the future. The Board agrees with the concept but needs more
definite plans and information and requests either a revised
color rendering or a model of the building. R. Mongello moved
that the site plan and landscape plan be approved with the
following stipulation 1) white pine at each entry be removed
or relocated; and request that preliminary building plans show-
ing location of inechanical units, elevations, floor plans, lo-
cation of trash recepticles be submitted at a later meeting,
seconded by S. Ebin, and unanimously.approved.
V. OLD BUSINESS:
(a) Suburban Auto Body (Mongello & Associates.), 4960 Dover Center Rd.
Addition of storage area to auto body shop.
Mr. Leo of Mongello & Associates brought in the sample of the
dyed utility concrete brick as requested by the Board on December
22nd. The mortar will be dark brown. He explained that this
material is being used on the new bus garage. The shingles will
match the existing dark brown shingles. Mr. Ebin believes that
there are too many different types of exterior materials, but
has no problem with the design of the building. He pointed out
