Burns moved to refer the <br />Rad Air proposal to the Architectural.Board of Review, se- <br />conded by J. Roberts, and unanimously approved. <br />(3) Speedy Muffler King, 4565 Great Northern Blvd. <br />Proposal for exterior alteration to existing building. <br />No representative was present. Building Commissioner E. <br />Gundy explained that this is the addition of.an aluminium <br />mansard which will be constructed on all elevations of the <br />building. New signs will be installed. The request was <br />explained to adjacent neighbors. R. Perla moved to refer <br />the Speedy Muffler King alteration to the Architectural <br />Board of Review, seconded by T. Morgan, and unanimously <br />approved. (4) Sparks Tune Up (William Durica, Jr.), 27045 Lorain Rd. <br />Review of sit plan <br />Mr. Durica, the owner and manager, and Mr. J. Gambone, rep- <br />resenting Sparks Tune Up,explained that the pumps, pump is- <br />lands and tanks of the former gas station will be removed, <br />the area will be paved, and parking will be created as shown <br />on the site plan. The building will be painted. Sign per- <br />mits have been applied for. Assistant City Engineer D. Mc <br />Dermott stated that the station is built across property <br />lines on two parcels of land and the property will have to <br />be assembled by the owner (Mr. Durica_, is leasing the building). <br />Mr. Durica is concerned about getting permission fo.r use of <br />the property, in order to expedite the acquisition of the • <br />lease, removal of the tanks, pinnps, etc. Mr. Prokasy ex- <br />plained that this was a proper use according to the code, <br />however, parking, traffic patterns, and other requirements <br />of the Architectural Board of Review and the final Planning <br />Commission review could possibly delay approvals. J. Roberts <br />moved to refer the Sparks Tune Up proposal to the Architectural <br />Board of Review, seconded by T. Morgan, and unanimously <br />approved. <br />(5) West Haven Foundation for Retarded, 29734 and 29756 Lorain Rd. <br />Proposal for additions to two (2) homes to be used for a <br />Group/Family Homes for retarded. <br />Mr. R. Archer of West Haven explained that there were two <br />separate projects, the house to the west at 29756 Lorain Rd.
