i
PLANN7NG CpMMISSION JUNE 22, 1982 PAGE 2
for the building and the sign. Mr. Gundy advised that he
liad no problem with the door being cut through the wall.
Mr. Morgan suggested using bumper stops along the fence
(poles with a chain) at the edge of the parking area.
Assistant City Engineer D. McDermott stated that this
building is located on 3 separate parcels which must be
assembled. Also the southwest corner of the property has
drainage problems and he suggested that a continuous curb
be installed to eliminate water draining onto property to
the rear. He pointed out that the surface is broken up at
present and after it is resurfaced there will be more run
off. There is no drain on the property. Assistant Law
Director J. Dubelko stated that if this proposal was ac-
tually increasing the water run off the developer might be
expected to provide drainage, however, this is an existing
building and the problem has existed for some time; and
this is an improvement to the property. The Commission is
in agreement that this plan is an improver.ent over what is
existing and rather than hold up the proposal they prefer
to approve it with the contingency that the developer will
have to work out these problems with the Engineering Dept.
Ms Shosenburg will have her engineer contact Mr. McDermott.
The,only signage planned is a pole sign. T. Morgan moved
to approve the plans for the renovation of the structure
and the parking lot area for Grandma's Rolling Pin contingent
upon a worlcable solution to the drainage problem which
exists in the southwest corner of said property, that so-
lution to be worked out between the Engineer representing
Grandma's Rolling Pin'and the City Engineering and Building
Departments. Our recommendation would also be that the
sign as presented be passed with the stipulation that the
wiring be underground and that Grandma's Rolling Pin would
start proceeding for platting the property and making one
parcel out of the three existing parcels, seconded by J.
Roberts, and unanimously approved.
(3) Clark Oil Co.
