PLANNING COMMISSION SEPTEMBER 28, r982 PAGE 2
(2) Tupperware Center (G. Draeger), west of 31376 Lorain Rd.
Proposal to construct warehouse and office building
Heard by the Architectural Board of,Review 9/22/82"
Mr. Draeger, the Architect, and Mr. Hilsmeier of Tupperware
explained that they will present a landscape plan, including
the siting of all existing trees which are to be saved,to
the Architectural Board of Review at a later date. Dawn-
lighting will be included on building as recommended. Mr.
Draeger explained that screening along the property line
which is adjacent to the rear of the house in front would
be ineffective since the Tupperware site is 15 to 20' lower
than the property to the front. In reference to the sanitary
sewer, they explained to Assistant City Engineer D. McDermott
that they would try to get an easment to the sewer behind
their property. The Engineering Department prefers that a
gravity sewer be installed if at all possible, instead of
a lift station, and Mr.. McDermott believes that there is
a sanitary connection available. R. Perla moved to approve
the Tupperware Center with-the recommendation of the Archi-
tectural Board of Review except that screening will not be
required along the rear lo.t line of the-single family home
since the site plan indicates that the floor of the new
building will be about 15 to 20' below the level of the
single dwelling, seconded by T. Morgan, and unanimously
approved.
(3) Kovachy Brothers Auto Parts (Sysack Sign Co.) 25044 Lorain Rd.
Proposal for store front alteration to auto parts store.
Heard by the Architectural Board of Review 9/22/82
Mr. Sysack agreed with the Architectural Board of Review's
recommendation to paint the garage door cape cod gray. The
signs conform-to code. There are no code restrictions against
the diagonal stripes on the building. T. Morgan moved that
the Kovachy Brothers Auto parts prcyposal for a store front
alteration and signs be approved with the recommendation in
the Architectural Board of Review Minutes of September 22nd
that the garage door will.be painted cape cod gray and.that
the canopy will be removed, seconded by R. Perla, and unani-
mously approved.
(4) Precision Hair Cutters (Astrup Co.), 27084 Lorain Rd.
Awning and sign for hair salon
Heard by Architectural Board of Review 9/22/82
Mr. McCann of Astrup Awning eXplained the proposal. The Archi-
tectural Board had made no additional recommendations. J.
Brown moved to approve the Precision Hair Cutters proposal
for the awning and the sign, seconded by R.
