He is also <br />thinking about replacing or removing his changeable copy pole <br />sign. The present restaurant sign would be refaced and put on the flower shop. Building Commissioner Gundy explained that <br />there is no additional signage available for the new addition where the flower shop is located. Any store in the addition <br />will need a variance for any size sign. Mr. Bugala suggested <br />that a basic sign criteria for the new stores could be estab- <br />lished based ori the present ordinances. This was done in a <br />previous similar situation. The square footage was based on 1:5 <br />times the lineal footage of the building frontage. A ruling <br />will be made pertaining to the signage allowed for the other <br />stores in the addition after the remaining cases are heard. R. <br />Bugala moved to grant a variance for the Milk Pail Country <br />Flower Shop facia sign based on square footage being 1.5 times <br />the store's frontage; the sign is to be placed on the Lorain side <br />of the building, seconded by L. Horvath, and unanimously approved. <br />W. Wasniak moved to grant the 6 sq. ft. variance for the Milk <br />Pail Restaurant, seconded by C'. Reimmel, and unanimously approved. <br />Mr. Gareau advised Mr. Boyle that the temporary sign that he dis- <br />plays occassionally is illegal and the city is going to start a <br />program of confi`scatin? those types of signsm <br />15. Christ The King Community, located on the west side of Barton Rd. <br />between I-480 and the North Olmsted South Corporate Line, and <br />includes extension to Cook Rd. in Olmsted Taonship. <br />Request Special Permit (1133.13). Mr. <br />Fleischman, Architect for Christ The King, presented the concept <br />plans for the ecumenical Christian Community which will contain a <br />retirement village with condominium-type, detached, single dwellings; <br />partial and total care'for the elderly; group homes for the retarded; <br />educational.facilities; an auditorium and physical education build- <br />ing. The area for the community encompasses three zoning districts. <br />Mr:-Fleischman explained that since there was no zoning to cover <br />such a community, there was a hardsh.ip involved; and they.are re- <br />requesting that a special use district be granted them for a relig- <br />ious center. He presented a program describing the entire concept <br />of the community. Mr. Stackhouse, trustee of Olmsted Township, <br />where part of the facility will be located, stated that there was <br />a problem with.the water table in the township being lowered, and <br />there was a concern that the proposed lake would worsen the situa- <br />tion.
