v +-.
PLANNING COMMISSION
SEPTEMBER 8, 1981 . PAGE 3
project will be in excess of 40 million dollars. Since the
first phase is to be started in the Spring, it was decided
to expedite the proposal if at all possible. A petitio.n had
• been submitted stating that the undersigned did not want any
type housing except single family residences. Mrs.. Cathy
Wilkins, a neighbor, advised the Comunission that the.petition
presented was not in opposition to the Christ-The-King Concept,
that the signers had been advise'd that condominiums were to be
built, and they were opposed to that. R. Bugala moved to put
. The Christ-The-King Community rezoning proposal into committee
and refer to the Regional Planning Commission for review and
recommendation within the next two weeks or as soon as pos-
sible,on the use of this land, seconded,by J. Prokasy, and
unanimously approved.
(4) Danny Boy.Farm Market, 24579 Lorain Rd.
Proposal for addition to existing market.
This is a 4,200 sq, ft. addition. There.will be 37.parking
spaces over the code requirements (parking requirements are
figured on the entire lot including the spaces in front of
the drug store). The addition conforms to code and will
match the existing building. Neighbors are objecting to the
addition based on traffic congestion on Columbia where traffic
backs up on to Lorain Rd. while waiting for cars to turn left
into Danny's. They would like to make the driveway on Columbia
Rd. an exit only. There were other complaints about parking
on the buffer area and flea markets and other such promotional
activities that are often held on this buffer area. Councilman
D. McKay also mentioned that the new section of Jamestown
Apartments at Brookpark and Columbia will be finished and will
add to the existing traffic problems. The Commission advised
the neighbors that since all codes are•met that, under the
law, the proposal cannot be rejected. It was suggested that
a curb could be installed along the south edge of the parking
lot to stop parking on the buffer area. J. Prokasy moved to
forward the Danny Boy Market Proposal to the Architectural
Board of Review and also, refer to the Safety Director to re-
view the exit and entrance on to. Columbia Road, and also, com-
municate to the Architectural Board the concern of local citi-
zens of the parking encroachment on the south side of the
parking lot, seconded by R. Bugala, and unanimously approved.
(5) Great Northern Corporate Center, located east of Great Northern
Blvd. and north of Country Club Blvd. Detailed plans (Prelim-
inary Plans heard by Planning Commission on July 21, 1981).
Mr. Gil Richland and Mr. Biskind presented the detailed site
plan. Assistan.t City Engineer D. McDermott advised that a
street opening is shown onto Broolcpark Rd. which is at present
•a limited 2ccess highway and possibly the state would not
grant the access. It was explained that this phase of the.
