Mr. <br />Witt, a'neighbor, felt that changing the placements of the <br />units to have some of them facing the residential buffer zone <br />might nulify the side yard variance that was granted by the <br />Board of Zoning Appeals. D. Williams moved to approve in <br />concept the site plan, building materials, elevations as pre- <br />sented and to suggest that the site plan be revised to include <br />the addi tion o f radii at the vario us co rne rs , the wi dths o f <br />drives to be approximately 20' deep, the relocation of some <br />of the "D" units that face Brookpark-'<"right-of-way be studied <br />to examine the possibility of switching them and using ?.W?°or <br />`•:B" units at that area, restudy landscaping plans per comments <br />that were made, typesso:£;`materials and also a landscape buffer <br />to screen where cars are to be facing off the site be included, <br />wi th the unde rs tanding that the final p lans including the <br />grading plan, arid:l;ightihg 'Olan will be submitted at a future <br />meeting, seconded by R. Parry, and unanimously approved. <br />V. UNFIidISHED BUSINESS : <br />(a) TGI Friday, Great Northern Mall, Space D100. The Developer <br />was not present, but I4r. Sol Shur of Great Northern Partner- <br />ship spoke in behalf of the res taurant. He s tated that the <br />awnings and sign were part of TGI Friday's national image and,-'_-. <br />that they would not build in North Olmsted if they could not use <br />them here. He also explained that Parmatown Mall is anxim.us to <br />have the restaurant located there. 'I`his restaurant chain will <br />build only two outlets in a city and the restaurant in Mayfield <br />Heights is grossing four million dollars a year. The pro- <br />ject was discussed in conjUnction with the Architectural Board_; <br />of Review Minutes of December 17, 1979. Mr. Shur also felt <br />that the shingles on the slooping roof could possibly be chan`ged. <br />Mr. Parry again stated that the Board did not feel that the <br />red and white awnings were compatible with the outside structure <br />of the r4a11, but that this trademark could be used inside the <br />Mallo Mr. Shur assured the Board that the Mall would take <br />care of the outside lighting. Mr. Sliur stated that the side- <br />walk that was in question is now 27 feet and after the con- <br />struction of the addition the sidewalk will be 17'. The original <br />plan showed only a 5' sidewalk remaining. The signage as shown <br />on the original plans had not been review by the Board since <br />the representative at the December 17th meeting, had advised <br />them that it was to be changed. Mr. Shur replied that the <br />restaurant had wanted a sign painted on the wall, but the Mall <br />had insisted that letters would have to be made and installed. <br />The letters are to be approximately 8' high.
