.
?1?
ARCHITECTURAL BOARD OF REVIEW APRIL 21, 1980 PAGE 3
(b) Referred by Planning Commission April 8, 1980
10 Minute Lubrication Center, 25715 Lorain Rd.
Mr. Cushenam,.owner, explained that a glass overhead door
would be installed to match the existing windows, and the
actual appearance will not be altered much from its present
appearance. The old gas pump islands will remain in order to
direct the flow of traffic. Mr. Williams sugges ted th at they
be painted for safety. Mr. Parry suggested that a planting
area could be placed where the present ground sign .is now
located to prevent traffic from cutting through. Mr. Williams
did not feel that this was a large enough area to landscape.
The dumpster should be relocated to the rear against the
line of treeg. R. Parry moved to approve the plans of the
10 Minute Lubrication Center with the recommendations that
1) the front overhead door be designed so that the window
panels would match the established line of the two fixed
window panels and that the owners examine the possibility of
putting.some landscaping somewhere on the site and resubmit at
a later meeting measuring out the site plan to determine if
additional landscaping can be placed into the site, seconded
by D. Iailliams, and unanimously approved.
(c) Referred by Planning Commission April 8, 1980
Skating Rink, South side of Mi-ll Rd. - .
Mr. _J. Goodworth, J. Butkiewicz and Dr. Bernstein, owner
explained the plans. The existing 8' chain link fence will
be relocated on the property line and another will be in-
stalled to keep people from cutting through the property.
The building will be beige split-face block with metal in-
sulated panels in brown with blue trim. The trees along the
property line will remain, if they do not survive during
construction they will be replaced with landscaping. The
dumpster is to be located at the rear corner of the building
paved access. There will be one entrance/exit on Lorain Rd.
Mr. Parry questioned if this drive-way conforms to City
Ordinances. There will be a right turn only onto Lorain as
requested by the Safety Director and he prefers that the
traffic _on Mill Rd. be exited toward Dover Center and not
toward Porter Rd. Mr. Butkiewicz stated that the main
traffic was drop off, and that on crowded sessions the maximum
parking would be 150 to 170 cars. Mr. Parry observed that
there is no sidewalk from the parking area and the sidewalk
at the front entrance was only 4t . He suggested that the
drop off point could be at the corners of the building and
that a covered walk be provided to the front entrance thus
eliminating people walking through the driveway to the en-
trance. He suggested that the porticos be on the corners of
the building with a canopy and a 6-8' sidewalk along the
