ARCHITECTURAL BOARD OF REVIEW P4AY 19, 1980 PAGE 3
May 13, 1980 and Board of Zoning Appeal of April 2, 1980
were read. Mr. 18rady explained that the garage would be
sided with 6 or 8" siding to match the trim on the church, it
would have an overhead garage door. He pointed out the pro-,
posed site. The adjacent neighbors, who are appealing the
Zoning Board's decision, voiced their objections to a free
standing structure at the location. R. Parry moved to approve
the addition of residential type garage on the property but
to recomtnend that it be moved approximately 40' to the west
and that additional landscaping be put on the east side of
the garage, seconded by M. Case, and unanimously approved.
(f) Fotomat, 23100 Lorain Road.
Mr. Pete Fogarty represented Fotomat. D. Idilliams questioned
the location of the booth, he contended that the booth should
be relocated west of the main drive off Lorain Road. It was
explained that the buildings would be steel aluminum tecnum
core and aluminum sheeting. Mr. Parry felt that the building
would not conform to the existing building on the site. Mr.
Fogarty agreed to construct the base of the building in brick
to match the store. The signage which is on the roof is to
be lighted by roof lights. Mr. Fogerty agreed to take the
roof lights, and the "Kodak Film" signs off the building.
D. Williams moved to approve the plans as presented with the
following recommendations: 1) relocate the building itself
further to the west, wes t of the westerly drive off Lorain
Rd as indicated on the site plans, 2) eliminatp.the roof lights
3) the "Kodak Film" sign be taken off 4) base be used with the
matching brick to the building, 5) the plantings used be a
type of a plant which will endure very dry conditions such as
a juniper of the green variety, 6) All services be underground,
seconded by Petroski,and unanimously approved.
(g) Sunmark Industries (Sunoco), 23370 Lorain Rd
R. Parry stated that this modern type canopy is totally out
of place with the existing brick colonial style station. It
was suggested that to add something to the roof to corres.pond
with the colonial roof or to change the angle on the canopy
so.that it did not look like a mansard roof. Mro Krall of
Krall Construction thought that this could be done. D. Williams
moved that the canopy be approved with the following recommen-
dations: 1) That the roof portion be angled to more closely
match the existing angle on the building if the construction
will permit it. 2) 'I`hat the roof be made a slate color to
more closely match the roof on the building 3) That the poles
match the trim on the building „ seconded by C. Petroskio
Roll call on motion: Williams, Petroski, and Case, aye; R.
Parry, nay. Motion passed.
