Southeast corner of Porter and the un- <br />developed Northern Ave. Request for variances (1133.13): 1) Request 14' <br />corner lot variance (requires 25' set b ack) violation of Ord. 62- 33, section <br />1159.02, 2) Request 2' side yard variance, violation of Ord. 62-33, section <br />1161.01 3) Request 20' corner lot variance for garage, violation of Ord. <br />62- 33, 1159.02, 4) Request for 51 Sq. The oath was ad- <br />ministeredo Since Northern "Ave. 'has been a dedicated street for many <br />years b ut never develope d, there was some discussion as to wh at the city <br />was planning for it. Law Director M. Gareau advised that if Northern is <br />vacated then the abutting properties would be given half of the right of <br />w,asy. If this is done, then Mr. Bower's lots would both be buildable <br />without variances. J. Fairfield mcved that both cases be continued for <br />one month to allow Law Director Gareau to work earnestly with the other <br />governmental committees to decide whether they want to keep Northern Avenue <br />or to vacate it, seconded by L. Horvath, and unanimously approved. <br />7. Michael Dunn, 4782 Martin Dr. Request for variance (1133.13). Request <br />special permit to add to non-conforming dwelling. Front set back is 156'. <br />Chairman Ledvi.na called all interested parties before the Boardo The oath <br />was administered. Mr. DeVoto moved to grant the special.p'ermit, seconded <br />by Mr. Remmel, and tm.animously approved. Special permit granted. <br />8. Union Oil Co. of California, 28210 Lorain Rd. - Request for variance (1133.13). <br />Request for variance to exceed maximum area for pole signe Violation of <br />J Ord. 62-33, Section 1225.02 (2). <br />Chairman Ledvina called all interested parties before the Board. 2'he oath was <br />administered. Union Oil Representative explained the need for the variance ?. <br />and that the company had no smaller sign to erect. Mr. DeVoto moved to re- <br />j:ect the variance; seconded by Mr. Remmel, and unanimously approved. Request <br />denie d. <br />9. The oath <br />was administered. The site plan was studied and discussed. The neighbors <br />claimed that the lot to the rear was owned by the same person.
