Ohman, <br />J.. Roberts9 J. Brown, and B. Gorris, aye; R. Bugala, nay. Motion <br />passed. <br />(d) Store Building Corporation Subdivi.sion - Northwest corner of Lorain <br />Rde and West 231 St: combining of parcels 231-16-27 and 231-16-28 <br />into one (1) lot for proposed commercial development. This assembly <br />was requested by the City prior to the final approval of the pro- <br />posed development. J. Brawn moved that the Store Building Corp. <br />subdivision combining parcels 231-16-27 and 231-16-28 into one lot <br />be approved as proposed, seconded by W. Ohman, and imanimously <br />app ro ve d. <br />V. COMMUNICATIONSc <br />Landmark Commission letter dated Jtme 25, 1979 advising the Planning <br />Commission that on May 17, 1979, the Landmarks Commission selected <br />the North Olmsted Unitarian Universalist Church on Porter Rd. and <br />the North Olmsted Congregational Church on Lorain Rd to be designated <br />as Landmarks. J. Roberts moved to reccommend approval of the Land- <br />marks Commission's selection of the North Olmsted Unitarian Uni- <br />versalist Church and the North Olmsted Congregational Church as <br />Landmarks, seconded by J. Prokasy, and unanimously approved. <br />V.I. NEW BUSINESS : <br />Ord, 79-94o Vacating the portion of Hawkins Ave, north of Vincent <br />Dr. and South of Robinson Ave., the line between the northe.rn most and <br />southernmost Botmdaries of the properties described as permanent <br />parcel no. 231-3-64, sublot 19, and'permanent parcel no. 231-3-85-, <br />sublot 1, on Hawkins Ave. Coimcilwoman, Jo Saringer and area residents <br />spoke in favor of the vacation since developing this street would <br />increase traffice from a proposed development in Westlake and be used <br />as_ an access to Westlake. Law Director M. Gareau suggested that an <br />opinion be requested from the City Engineer. Discussion ensued. <br />W. Ohman moved to approve the proposed Ord. 79-94 subject to the <br />concurrance of the City Engineer that it is in the best interest of <br />the City to vacate Hawkins Ave, north of Vincent Dr., within the <br />city limi.ts, seconded by B. Gorris, and unanimously approved. <br />Ord. 79-89. Adopting a new and revised section 1225.02 entitled <br />"Signs in Retail Business Districts" of the Zoning Code of the <br />City of North Olmsted. This ordinance is specifically changing <br />section H of chapter 1335.02o A letter from the Chamber of Commerce <br />to the City Coimcil was read requesting that the Building Commissioner <br />be given authority to issue temporary sign permits for a period of <br />thirty days. D. Ledvina, Chairman of the Board of Zoning Appeals, <br />felt that as long as the sign ordinance was being amended that the <br />allocation of sign space on buildings be allocated by the Building <br />Commissioner to each store, and not the total amount of sign space to <br />the entire building.
