Caster emphasized land must <br />be graded to the Engineer's satisfaction. Mrs. Eian moved to grant <br />variance of 3.67, 3.67 and 3.65 ft. to permit 3 lots based upon approval <br />of drainage problems by Engineering Department. Mr. R.oberts seconded <br />and the motion passed unanimo.usly. <br />l. Joseph A. DeCore, 4526 Nichael Ave. Request for variance (1133.13). Re- <br />quest for special permit to erect tool shed. Violation of Ord..62-33 <br />Section 1133.09. <br />Present: Mr. and Mrs. DeCore. Witnesses were administered thE oath. <br />Chr. Scheef read request. Appellant has 2? car garage, no basement, <br />backyard is not wooded, 10 ft. x 10 ft. shed 5 ft. from rear of property <br />and 5 ft. from side is planned. Mr. Scheef said Baorc: would like to <br />prevent tool sheds all over NOrth Olmsted. i,lr. DeCore said neighbors <br />do not object and there are many other tool sheds on the street. Utr. <br />Roberts moved to deny request, seconded by Mr. Hamill and passed. <br />2. Cunningham Drug S:tore, 23359 Lorain Rd. Request for variance (1133•13) <br />Request for oversize pole sign. Violation of Ord. 62-33 Section 1225.02. <br />3. Cunningham Drug Store, 2900 Lorain Rd. Request for variance (1133•13) <br />Request for oversize nole sign. Violation of Ord. 62-33 cection 1225.02. <br />Present: Ju1ia Brown, Ed Lavamaay, Clifton Zawson, Lois DeBrodt. Council- <br />man Speedling. Signs were described. They will be replacing Super X <br />signs and will be smaller than Super X signs. Signs will have white <br />background and will be turned off when store closes at 9:00 p.m. Pole <br />sign is limited to 60 sq. ft. Mr. Hamill moved to grant yariance of <br />28 sq. ft. at 23359 Lorain Rd. and that area around the base be developed <br />and maintained. Nir. Roberts seconded and the motion passed unanimously. <br />Mr. Hamill moved request for variance at 2900 I,orain Rd. be granted. <br />Mrs. Eian seconded and motion passed. <br />4. McClean Auto Wash, 26075 Lorain Rd. Request for variance (1133.13)• Re- <br />quest for oversize pole sign in excess of maximum permitted by 511 sq.ft. <br />(readable from Brookpark Rd.) Violation of Ord. 62-33 Section 1225.02 (C). <br />Present: Zloyd Schade, Councilmen Boehmer and Speedling, Julia Brown. <br />Witnesses were administered th.e oath. Chr. Scheef read the case and <br />questioned size. Proposed sign is similar in size to billboard to be <br />placed on Brookpark Road near Columbia Rd. Mr. Roberts moved to deny, <br />stating basic policy is to prevent such si¢ns. Mrs. Eian seconded and <br />the motion passed. <br />5. Bartel Beverage store, 30791 Lorain Rd. Request for variance (1133.13) <br />Request for oversize pole sign. Violation of Ord. 62-33 Section 1225.02 <br />(C) (250) sq. ft. oversize); 49 sq. ft. maximum sign permitted for area <br />as request is for a second pole sign on lot. <br />Present: Same as above. Chr. Scheef read case. Pronosed is advertising <br />sign 250 ft. oversize. Ntra Scheef Explained basic policy of City, ex- <br />plained hardship cases. Mr. Roberts moved to deny request. Mrs. Eian <br />seconded and motion passed.
