best theme for the event. Having a raffle was also discussed as well as inviting some of the <br />players to take part in the event. Mr. Brake suggested having an area to promote the city's <br />ability to host such large events as well. A subcommittee was formed consisting of Ms. Strippy, <br />Ms. Kilbane, Ms. Graff and Mr. Brake. <br />City Hall Art Gallery <br />Ms. Wenger reviewed the existing forms and asked for suggested improvements. Ms. DePolo <br />said most artists don't show their work for more than a month as they try to schedule their work <br />to be shown in multiple areas throughout the year. The commission suggested offering options <br />for display periods such as one, two and three month timeframes. Ms. Wenger said the city <br />doesn't promote selling the artwork. Artists can be invited to provide flyers or an autobiography <br />including information of the pieces which can be picked up from the literature rack. <br />Community Networks <br />Commissioners discussed inviting other arts and culture groups to their meetings so they can <br />network and create partnerships. Members were invited to submit contact information of any <br />groups or organizations which can be invited to the clerk so a contact list can be established. <br />COMMISSION ORGANIZATION <br />Ms. Strippy moved, seconded by Mr. Wahl, to appoint Bill Brake as Arts Commission <br />Chair which passed 8-0. <br />Ms. Kilbane moved, seconded by Mr. Wahl, to appoint Lauren Suter as Arts Commission <br />Vice Chair which passed 8-0. <br />Commission members discussed holding off on creating an Arts Commission logo and working <br />toward the group's mission and goals first. <br />ADJOURNMENT <br />With no furth • business, Ms. Suter's absence was excused and meeting adjourned at 8:lOpm. <br />Bill Brake, Chair D, nna Rote, C erk of ommissions <br />???a/? <br />Approved <br />2
