Applicant shows a 6-foot
privacy fence within the neighbor's front setback; code requires corner fences to be at least 50%
open and no more than 30 inches high, Section 1135.02(f).
The oath was administered to Mr. Pucillo and Councilman Barker. He submitted postcards which his
neighbors signed stating they support the variance request. Councilman Barker said the owner is
replacing the living fence with a privacy fence and improving the appearance of the area
therefore he supports the request. Ms. Wenger said the fence is 20 feet in from the street, doesn't
change the character of the neighborhood or create any safety concerns. Mr. Raig asked if the
cards submitted were from abutting neighbors and Mr. Pucillo said yes. Ms. Rudolph asked if
the driveway would be enclosed and Mr. Pucillo said no. Board members had no objections to
the request as there would be no safety or hazards created by the fence.
Mr. Lopez moved, seconded by Ms. Rudolph, to grant Jim Pucillo of 3185 Olmsted Drive a
variance for a solid, 6-foot high fence on a corner lot located beyond the neighbor's front
setback.
