, 0 <br />Mr. Raig moved, seconded by Ms. Rudolph, to grant variances for a home occupation <br />(landscape business) at a residential property within a B One-Family Residential Zoning <br />District for App14-1619 Robert Perkins of 6275 Stearns Road including: <br />1. A variance for non-family members working at the business; code does not permit, <br />applicant shows up to 8 non-family employees, section 1135.02(b)(1). <br />2: A variance for the business occupancy not conducted wholly within the residential <br />dwelling; code does not allow, applicant shows business use outside of dwelling, section <br />1135.02(b)(2). <br />3. A variance for work trucks or other mobile equipment parked overnight in driveways <br />and open yards, and the number of automobiles on the premises associated with the <br />business being a greater number than normally associated with a single family <br />residence; code does not permit, section 1135.02(b)(6). <br />Motion passed 3-0. <br />App14-2001; Richard Klesta Sr.; 5745 Mackenzie: <br />Proposal consists of a detached garage. The following variance is requested: <br />1. A 1,330 sf variance for total area of garages; code requires any attached or detached garages <br />in combination not to exceed 750 sf; applicant shows 2,080 sf, section 1135.02(c)(3). Note: <br />Existing 800 sf attached garage to remain; existing 10'x14' shed to be removed. <br />The oath was administered to Richard Klesta. He said his backyard is very large and he would <br />like to have a pole barn to store his yard equipment, general storage and have a wood shop for <br />his hobby. Mr. Russell said he had no objections to the request. Mr. Raig said when visiting the <br />site the yard is quite large and there are other homes in the neighborhood with pole barns as <br />well so it would not impact the neighborhood. 1VIr. The following variances are <br />requested: <br />1. A variance for a fence less than 50% open; code requires fences to be 50% open when <br />located in the required front yard, applicant shows solid, section 1135.02(f)(1). <br />2. A 30 inch height variance for a section of dog eared privacy fence; code permits fences to be <br />30 in high when located in the required front yard, applicant shows 60 in high, section <br />1135.02(f)(1). <br />3. A 24 foot variance for a section of dog eared privacy fence within the required front setback <br />on a corner lot; code requires 50 ft, applicant shows 26 ft, section 1135.02(f)(2). <br />The oath was administered to Mike Coleman. He said his home was purchased 20 years ago and <br />a fence was installed as there is no privacy due to the layout of the lot. Sections of the existing <br />fence were blown down and they realized the entire fence had sections needing to be replaced. <br />2
