This marker will be installed and
dedicated in 2011.
Additionally, Landmarks Commission members attended and
offered comments at the dedication ceremony for the Olmsted
Unitarian Universalist Church marker. The church celebrated its
175th anniversary in 2010.
Historic Recognition Propram
The Landmarks Commission approved one application for the Historic Recognition Program.
The Knight-Biddulph house on Porter Road was awarded a historic recognition plaque. This
house dates back to about 1860 and is the only all sandstone house in the City of North Olmsted.
Designation of Landmarks
The Landmarks Commission nominated two properties for consideration for landmark status in
the City of North Olmsted. The Knight-Biddulph house at 4302 Porter Road is more than 150
years old and is a very unique structure from that era. The Biddulph house at 25896 Butternut
Ridge Road was constructed in the 1870's and its original owners played a significant role in the
City's history. The house is currently vacant and the property is far sale. Both houses were
approved by the Commission for study and committees were appointed to conduct research and
develop reports on the historical significance of the properties.
ZOlO PROJECTS
2010 Speaker Series
m.s8savwan??a ?
The Landmarks Commission speaker series continued in 2010 with the
presentation of New Frontiers: Conscience, Conflict and Progress by
Dale Thomas, a local historian and author.
