Mr. Rerlco aslced if the exterior glass front would have fagade lighting. Mr. Broolcer said the
front entrance element may be illuminated. Mr. Rerko said both the northeast and northwest
corners will be glass and vehicles backing up and driving next to them is a safety concern. Mr.
Broolcer said they may install bollards to protect the corners as well as by the glass vehicle doors.
Mr. Rerlco aslced if the north wall pack over the man door was a motion light and if it would alter
the photometric readings. Mr. Brooker said all site lighting including that on the building was
previously approved and would not be changed. Mr. Rerlco asked if the building coping would
also be silver anodized aluminum and Mr. Broolcer said yes. Mr. Parry aslced if the front
elevation renderings were accurate that different size glass bloclcs would be used or would they
be consistent throughout the elevation. Mr. Broolcer said that the larger 4'x 8' x 10' foot sections
would Ue used throughout the front. He noted that the darlc bronze framing around the existing
windows would not be altered only the new windows would be silver anodized aluminum.
Discussion ensued pertaining to the different framing colors. Mr. Bohlmann was concerned that
too many things were being noted as maybe items. The commission should be very clear
regarding bollard color and placement, requiring framing to match or allowing the framing will
be mixed. The stone should also be identified there should be no unanswered questions in the
final approval. He aslced if the east area which abuts the post office would be landscaped and
Mr. Broolcer said the area would be lawn. Mr. Parry thought that the bronze framing on the
existing windows would not talce away from the loolc of the building if all new windows, doors
and entrances were silver anodized aluininum which Mr. Rerlco agreed with if the bronze was
found in other elements on the site. Mr. Malone felt the bronze framing would help break up the
visual appearance of the white glass.
1VIr. Laslco moved, seconded by Mr. Bohlmann to Approve C1VIS10-30: M3 Realty, LLC of
28595 Lorain Road their proposed changes with the following conditions:
1. The exterior paint color will match the Sherwin Williams 7018 sample (medium gray).
2. The Arrow Craft Cream smooth colored stone system will be used or a similar cream
smooth colorecl stone system will be along the front of the building.
3. The existing showroom windows will remain and new glass system used will be that
which is noted on development plan page A2-01 noting all new glass blocks will be 4'x
8' x 10'.
4. The wall area on which the Saab sign is located may have internal illuminatfon.
5. The existing dark bronze window framing is acceptable; however, silver colored
framing would also be acceptable.
6. Medium gray color bollards in numbers necessary will be installed to protect the
northeast corner of the building and east doors.
7. The existing Saab ground sign is to be relocated to this site.
The motion was approvecl 5-0.
COMMUNICATION
Ordinance No. 2010 - 112
An Ordinance amending Section 1139.01 of the Zoning Code of the City of North Olmsted to
pei-init entertaintnent device arcades in general retail zoning district, subject to conditional use
pennit and additional area restrictions.
4
