Mr. Brennan questioned if Home Depot has a pateut on <br />safety orange. Mr. Perisi explained the color is something that comes up quite often, but the <br />orange color is really more of a terra-cotta. He elaborated there is an orange manufactured by <br />"Fittsburgh Paints" called "Home Depot Orange." Mr. Brennan requested a sample of this <br />material. The developer did not have the requested samples, but was willing to ,provide it at the <br />architectural review board meeting. Mr. Brennan requested that the orange be eliminated on the <br />rear elevation. Mr. Perisi agreed to make the doors on the rear of the building match the rear of , <br />the building and elimuiate the orange color. Mr. Brennan requested an explanation on the wall <br />pack lights mounted to the rear of the bu.ilding. Mr. Barrow stated there will also be 20 foot high <br />light poles in the landscaped area as well as the mounted wall packs over the emergency exits. He <br />explained the intent is to have enough lighting to the rear of the property for safety reasons, yet <br />not to allow any illumiuation passed the landscaped area in the rear. Mr. Brennan requested that <br />they utilize a full shield wall pack when mou.nting the lights on the rear of the building, since this is <br />for emergency lighting only. Mr. Barrow agreed to accommodate this request. Mr. Koeth <br />questioned if all the materials would be inside the building. Mr. Platt advised at the close of <br />business all materials would be inside the building. During business hours, in order to iniiumize <br />the amount of trucks that may be waiting, heavy materials will be tempararily be staged on the <br />concrete pad next to the screen wall. Mr. Platt noted this material will be stored out of view as it <br />is on the side of the wall facing the shopping center. Mr. Koeth quesrioned if there would be any <br />storage on the front of the building. W. Platt explained the rules in North Olmsted indicate they <br />are prohibited outdoor storage of material. There should not be any customer traffic at the rear of <br />the building as the concept is all customer traffic comes in the front doors, but all delivery and <br />services are accommodated in the rear. Mr. Koetb questioned how they can be certain there will <br />not be any customer parking on the rear side of the building. Mr. Platt advised there is a customer <br />pickup line in the front of the building and no unattended vehicle signs will be posted, as the staff <br />will assist in loading any heavy materials into the vehicles. He stated a traffic analysis was <br />performed a year ago by Mr. Box, a noted traffic engineer, and the conclusion was the customer <br />pick-up lane and the motion of traffic out of the customer pick up lane is no different than the <br />motion of traffic from paralleL Mr. Koeth noted there is storage of materials on the outside of the <br />building at the "Parma Home Depot" and he discouraged this type of storage as it takes away <br />from the aesthetics of the building. Mr. Perisi advised that type of wall display will not be utilized <br />as it is prohibited in the City of North Olmsted. Mr. Brennan questioned how custom cutting of <br />lumber will be accomplished. Mr. Perisi identified the location for this lu.mber cutting and noted <br />this activity will be screened in -a mauuer so as to limit the amount of impact on surrounding <br />residents as well as Home Depot customers. There were three signs shown on the front facade <br />including: "The Home Depot", "Nursery", and "Indoor Lumberyard." Mr. Perisi noted those are <br />individually illuminated channel letters. He explained the purpose of the shade screens peaks are <br />to provide the plants with shading so that they do not burn up in the spring and summer months. <br />There will be a trash eompactor in the truck well behind the screen wall which will be picked up <br />periodically. The compacting operation takes place in the store as there is a shoot that comes out ??- <br />into the compacting unit. Mr. Perisi explained he has obtained copies of the ordinances relative to <br />restrictive hours and they will uphold this in two ways.
